The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference in the United States in which its fifteen member universities compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA's) Division I, with its football teams competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest levels for athletic competition in US-based collegiate sports. The ACC sponsors competition in twenty-five sports with many of its member institutions' athletic programs held in high regard nationally. ACC teams and athletes have claimed dozens of national championships in multiple sports throughout the conference's history. Generally, the ACC's top athletes and teams in any particular sport in a given year are considered to be among the top collegiate competitors in the nation. The ACC is considered to be one of the six collegiate power conferences, all of which enjoy extensive media coverage and automatic qualifying for their football champion into the Bowl Championship Series (BCS). With the advent of the College Football Playoff in 2014, the ACC will be one of five conferences with a contractual tie-in to an access bowl, the successors to the BCS.
Founded in 1953 in Greensboro, North Carolina, by seven universities located in the South Atlantic States, the conference added additional members in late 1953, 1979, 1991, 2004, and 2013. The 2004 and 2013 additions extended the conference's footprint into the Northeast and Midwest. The most recent expansion in 2013 saw the additions of the University of Notre Dame, the University of Pittsburgh, and Syracuse University. In 2012, the University of Maryland's Board of Regents voted to withdraw from the ACC to join the Big Ten Conference. On November 28, 2012, the ACC's Council of Presidents voted unanimously to invite the University of Louisville as a full member, replacing Maryland.

Syracuse University Stadium Roof Crane Erection
Towering above Syracuse University stadium stands the 550 foot tall crane that Buckner HeavyLift Cranes, Midwest Steel, Inc., and local iron workers tirelessly worked to assemble over the last few weeks. That's over 200 feet taller than the State Tower building, the tallest building in Syracuse, and almost 400 feet taller than the Dome. This crane will handle much of the heavy lifting for the roof replacement project.

GODZILLA EATS LAS VEGAS - Baldwinsville Marching Band Carrier Dome 2012 HD
The Baldwinsville Marching Band's seventh performance of Godzilla Eats Las Vegas in The Carrier Dome for the New York State Field Band Conference Championships 10/28/2012.
It's 4 am in Las Vegas. The nightly shows have ended,,,, yet something lurks in the darkness beyond the strip.... Somewhere in the nearby desert, a nuclear experiment has gone terribly wrong and threatens Sin City !!!
It's Monster versus Man baby, on the greatest stage of all...
Based on the wind ensemble piece of the same name by Eric Whitacre. 'Godzilla Eats Las Vegas' was commisioned by the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 1996. As the composer explains:
The musicians are called upon to scream in terror, dress like Elvises (Elvi), and play in about thirty different styles from mambo to cheesy lounge music. It has been played on the steps of the Capitol by the United States Marine Band, by the Scottish National Wind Symphony (they play in kilts, so help me God), and I have video of a Japanese audience visibly confused and shaken by the whole experience. Can you imagine?
Can Vegas defeat Godzilla? The Baldwinsville Marching Band is proud to present:

SUMMARY
=======
Syracuse University (commonly referred to as Syracuse, 'Cuse, or SU) is a private research university in Syracuse, New York, United States. The institution's roots can be traced to the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, founded in 1831 by the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lima, New York. After several years of debate over relocating the college to Syracuse, the university was established in 1870, independent of the college. Since 1920, the university has identified itself as nonsectarian, although it maintains a relationship with The United Methodist Church.The campus is in the University Hill neighborhood of Syracuse, east and southeast of downtown, on one of the larger hills. Its large campus features an eclectic mix of buildings, ranging from nineteenth-century Romanesque Revival structures to contemporary buildings. SU is organized into 13 schools and colleges, with nationally recognized programs in information studies and library science, architecture, communications, business administration, inclusive education and wellness, sport management, public administration, engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences.
Syracuse University athletic teams, known as the Orange, participate in 20 intercollegiate sports. SU is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference for all NCAA Division I athletics, except for the men's rowing and women's ice hockey teams. SU is also a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
