Casa Loma, the Hill House, is the quaintest building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Sir Henry Pellatt, a rich eccentric industrialist and financier, built the palace built from 1911 to 1914. It has nearly 100 rooms, of which the entrance hall, the ballroom and the conservatory are the most impressive. The interior decor is made of the finest and most expensive materials available at that time. The house is connected with the stables by a 244 m long underground passage. The towers provide a magnificent view over the city. A castle after the taste of king Ludwig II of Bavaria.
Lady Mary Pellatt founded the first Girl Guides in Canada. As the Chief Commissioner of the Dominion of Canada Girl Guides, she invited regularly groups with up to 250 girls into her home.
Due to financial difficulties, Sir Henry Pellatt sold Casa Loma in 1923. In 1933 it fell to the town and was turned to a museum.
Among others, Casa Loma was location for movies like The Pacifier, X Men, Chicago or The Tuxedo.

Wegen finanziellen Schwierigkeiten musste Sir Henry Pellatt Casa Loma 1923 verkaufen.
1933 fiel es der Stadt zu und wurde als Museum der breiten Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung gestellt.
Casa Loma war u. a. Drehort für Filme wie Der Babynator, X-Men,Chicago oder The Tuxedo -Gefahr im Anzug.

Casa Loma, a Toronto’s Majestic Castle, built in 1910 spending about 3.5 million dollars by Sir Henry Pellat for his wife, is Canada’s famous tourist destination due to its unique architecture and gothic-styled outlooks.
The 7 storied Castle with 98 rooms in total has many interesting interior facets as well as hunting lodge and a huge dining, Blue blood stake house, several expensive antiques collected by Pellatt himself and a special room which was used for spy technology operation.

Casa Loma (Spanish for Hill House) is a Gothic Revival style mansion and garden in midtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that is now a historic house museum and landmark. It was constructed from 1911 to 1914 as a residence for financier Sir Henry Pellatt. The architect was E. J. Lennox,[1] who designed several other city landmarks. Casa Loma sits at an elevation of 140 metres (460 ft) above sea level.
Due to its unique architectural character in Toronto, Casa Loma has been a popular filming location for movies and television. It is also a popular venue for wedding ceremonies, and Casa Loma can be rented in the evenings after the museum closes to the public.

Con sus 6011 m² y 98 habitaciones, era la mayor residencia de Canadá, cuando fue completada en 1914. Sin embargo, sus altísimos gastos de mantenimiento arruinaron a Pellatt. En 1933, la ciudad de Toronto se apropió de la mansión, a causa de una deuda de 27 000 dólares. En 1937, fue abierta al público en general como museo.
Su propietario la llamó así, en español, por estar situada precisamente sobre una loma o colina de la ciudad de Toronto.

Cette maison est la résidence de Sir Henry Pellatt de 1914 à 1923. Ce dernier est contraint en 1923 d’abandonner sa résidence pour des raisons financières. En 1925, l’architecte William Sparling propose de convertir la maison en hôtel de luxe. On lui accorde la même année un prêt à long terme pour le concevoir, mais l’idée est définitivement abandonnée en 1929 lors de la crise économique. En 1933, la maison est prise en paiement par la Ville de Toronto pour taxes impayées. Dès lors, plusieurs projets sont proposés afin de donner une nouvelle vocation à l’édifice. La Ville de Toronto considère même de démolir la résidence.

A huge, beautiful castle - complete with a tower view, secret garden and hidden passageways. The kids loved the audio tour here and the underground tunnel that took us to the stable and garage. Next, we head UP 553 meters to the very top of the CN Tower. Glass windows and glass floors give us a spectacular view of the city. This tower was once the tallest free standing structure in the world. There is so much to explore in Canada!
