The award-winning Vina Casas del Bosque winery lies within the Casablanca region of Chile. Casas del Bosque started as a boutique family winery in 1993 and now maintains 573 acres (232 hectares) of productive vines; the winery’s specialty is Sauvignon Blanc, but Chardonnay, Riesling, Syrah and Pinot Noir are also grown.
Bodegas Re are unique conceptual wines, which involve RE Creation of ancestral Genesis, through the use of artisan processes of wine making in clay amphoras, with current techniques and knowledge.
Casablanca Valley, situated on the coastal plain between Santiago and Valparaiso, is Chile’s most famous wine region despite being relatively new to the global wine scene, with wine production beginning as late as the mid-1980s. As a young valley of premium wines, Casablanca Valley boasts a large number of wineries boasting the latest modern technology, many of them boutiques wineries. Despite its late start wine production in the Casablanca Valley has gained recognition in particular for the white wine production of splendid crisp Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, but also for some stunning reds such as Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah. Felipe and Connie -- Garcia & Schwaderer -- met in 2001 and since then their fates have been intertwined. In early 2006 after each had served as a winemaker for separate large wineries, they made their first wine together, a declaration of what they consider Chilean wine. They have added each of their own signature varieties -- Sauvignon Blanc for Connie and Pinot Noir for Felipe.
