ABOUT THIS VLOG:
➡ Cascais, Portugal, has for many years been a popular tourist destination for sunshine hungry people. Cascais actually became popular before Lisbon, which is why Cascais is a very polished area that today is where the rich and famous live in their huge mansions.
Cascais has a lot to offer so it can be hard to know where to start.
What we did was to explore the best and most popular things to do which includes the old town of Cascais, Boca do Inferno, Guincho Beach and Cabo da Roca.
The old town of Cascais is super charming and a great place to relax and just enjoy life. There are a lot of tourists traps, but if you do your research you will be just fine. This is also a place where you can shop til you drop although the selection isn't overly impressive.
A short drive from Cascais Old Town is Boca do Interno, which is a beach front cliff area with magnificent views and nice restaurants. It's a wonderful place to come a unwind and just enjoy the waves coming in. And speaking of waves Guincho Beach is an obvious must-visit. This is the go-to beach of Cascais, where surfers, tanners, tourists and locals mix together in a good blend without causing too much traffic. The beautiful beach is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and hotels including Fortaleza do Guincho, which has a 1-star Michelin restaurant that is worth visiting.
Finally, visiting Cabo da Roca is great way to end the day and enjoy the sunset. This is the most western point of continental Europe, which is also why lots of tourists flock to the place. There are a lot of tourists, which is a drawback, but you can't beat that view. It's just incredible!

Cascais, Portugal May 2017
Cascais is a delightful Portuguese fishing town that is situated on the western edge of the beautiful Lisbon coastline, and is the region’s most popular holiday destination. Historically the town was a favourite with the Portuguese nobility, and today the town is an elegant blend of grand 19th century architecture, traditional Portuguese charm and outstanding tourist facilities.
These factors combine not just to make a great holiday destination but also an enjoyable day trip from Lisbon, which is less than 20 minutes away by train.

This is my favourite part of Portugal: Sintra and Cascais. In Sintra we visited the Pena Palace, which is a picturesque castle on top of a hill, seems to be taken out from a fairy tale, and Quinta da Regaleira, a romantic castle with a very interesting garden around it. We also went to Cascais, which is considered to be the city for rich and famous people of Portugal. I love Portugal, and in my opinion, this is the best part of this country.

Lisbon's Beach Resort, CASCAIS, PORTUGAL // PT17 ep.4
Hi everyone! In this next episode of the PT17 series, let's go to the beach! The most popular beach near Lisbon is called Praia de Carcavelos, easily reached by a direct train from central Lisbon towards Cascais, getting off at Carcavelos station and then a 10 minute walk, (just follow the other people!) It's got everything you would expect of a good beach - overpriced sunloungers for rent, (guilty!) parasols, plenty of cafes and bars serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, soft golden sand and surprisingly cold water.
If you get bored and fancy a change of scenery though, get back on the same train and ride to the end of the line - Cascais. This very pretty little town looks like a sleepy fishing village that developed into a tourist hive with several hotels, international big-brand restaurants, souvenir and boutique shops and pretty little streets with a Portuguese flair for those al fresco evenings. Highly recommended if you like to be well-catered for in a peaceful and beautiful area while on holiday, but want the buzz of Lisbon within a half hour train ride!

Sintra is a municipality and town in the Grande Lisboa subregion of Portugal, and considered part of the Portuguese Riviera. Sintra is known for its many 19th-century Romantic architectural monuments, which has resulted in its classification as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has become a major tourist centre, visited by many day-trippers who travel from the capital Lisbon.
In addition to the Sintra Mountains and Sintra-Cascais Nature Park, the parishes of the town of Sintra are dotted with royal retreats, estates, castles and other buildings, including the medieval Castelo dos Mouros, the Pena Palace and the Sintra Palace.
The Sintra Mountains, a granite massif ten kilometres long emerge abruptly between a vast plain to the north and the northern margin of the Tagus River estuary, winding in a serpentine cordillera towards the Atlantic Ocean and Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point of continental Europe. Since 1966, the Sintra Mountains have been affected by fires that have destroyed a major part of the original forest, which has been substituted by acacia and other fast-growing exotic species. The forested area of the Sintra mountains is about 5,000 hectares (50 km2).

SUBSCRIBE: - The spectacular city of Cascais (Portugal), a walking tour! Let's go for a walk around this spectacular Portuguese city and let's enjoy its most famous sites: Cascais (Portugal), a walking tour.
Cascais is a coastal town and a municipality in Portugal, 30 kilometres (19 miles) west of Lisbon. It is a cosmopolitan suburb of the Portuguese capital and one of the richest municipalities in Portugal. The population is around 216,479, in an area of 97.40 square kilometres (37.61 square miles).[2] The former fishing village gained fame as a resort for Portugal's royal family in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Nowadays, it is a popular vacation spot for both Portuguese and foreign tourists.
Portugal is a southern European country on the Iberian Peninsula, bordering Spain. Its location on the Atlantic Ocean has influenced many aspects of its culture: salt cod and grilled sardines are national dishes, the Algarve's beaches are a major destination and much of the nation’s architecture dates to the 1500s–1800s, when Portugal had a powerful maritime empire.
