Saginaw Bay LAKE TROUT Fishing // Lake Huron Pier Casting - Caseville Michigan
My first trip to the Caseville pier to target Lake Trout! The pier was icy but the bite was hot!
Note: This was my first visit to this pier and I didn't know what to expect. The shape of the pier and the surrounding rocks made it very difficult to gently release the fish but I certainly did the best I could without falling in myself. I'll be better prepared next time!

Caseville Michigan History 1850-1960
The History of Caseville 1850-1960 visits the town that got its start, like many others in Michigan, as a lumbering town, with the Crawford Family at its helm. Each spring the Pigeon River would be filled with white pine logs. When the trees were gone, farming and commercial fishing established the base of trade. The railroads and sandy beaches created the tourist trade Caseville is known for today. Available from michiganhistoryvideos.com

Sunset Over Sleeper State Park, Caseville Michigan HD Stereo
Ahhh. What can be nicer than enjoying an evening's sunset out over the water? A lot of things of course, but it is nice. A warm day, a gentle breeze off of Lake Huron, facing Charity Island in Saginaw Bay, your back to a forested State Park, a beverage in your hand and snacks on the table. Life can be good.
That's the feeling I tried to capture with this video. Albert Sleeper State Park is near the tip of Michigan's Thumb, just east of Caseville, Michigan. It's a beautiful natural place with plenty of things to do nearby if you or the kids have some energy to burn. It's quite popular with families and older folk like me.
Caseville has two big summer festivals worth checking out, RibStock (yep, spare-ribs !!!) and the Cheeseburger Parade and Festival (with a Key West flair !!!) All kinds of things to do. And Saginaw Bay has some of the greatest walleye, yellow perch and trout fishing in the world. Just don't tell anyone !!!
In the video, there's an occasional young couple on the beach below. Due to camera location, only about 20% of the beach is shown. Add in a gathering of friendly folk behind the camera near the end. You may have to crank up the sound to hear the gentle sound of waves reaching the beach. It'll be worthwhile.
I hope you enjoy.

This is my first attempt at making a video and I think it came out halfway decent. It was made using a Logitech c920 webcam hooked up to a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop.
