Try Angling fun in Cassiobury Park

Watford Borough Council and Watford Piscators Fishing Club are hosting a number of fishing days to keep your kids occupied during the summer holidays. Try Angling takes place near the Grand Union Canal’s Iron Bridge lock in Cassiobury Park from 1pm to 4pm on Tuesdays 9 August and 23 August. Everyone older than five is welcome to join the fun, and entry costs just £2 per person. Just turn up and have fun!

Our beautiful Local Nature Reserve – one of many reasons why Cassiobury Park was voted one of Britain’s top 10 favourite parks in the Keep Britain Tidy People’s Choice poll.

It’s next to the River Gade and can be reached from the main park across a small footbridge.

Hiking River Gade & its Nature Reserve near Cassiobury Park Watford

I spent a few hours wandering and hiking the stunning River Gade and Nature Reserve. What a beautiful place to spend the day! The River Gade is a river running almost entirely though Hertfordshire.

Its principal tributary is the River Bulbourne and eventually joins River Colne which I had the pleasure of hiking (River Colne video: only a few weeks ago. The River Gade and its nature reserve where children can also spend time in the Cassiobury Park Watford is a must visit.

The Aquadrome covers 41 hectares and is home to a wide variety of facilities from wooded walks, lakes and a play area to a cafe and lush green open spaces.



As a Local Nature Reserve, it is also home to a variety of wildlife and plants and with its diverse habitats is an ideal place for walks and picnics.

The Colne Valley Park Festival 2013

The Colne Valley Park Festival 2013 took place at Denham Country Park on Sunday the 28th of July 2013
There was a mini petting farm, ferret racing, 40 minute canal boat trips down the Grand Union Canal in the direction of Uxbridge, face painting, river dipping and fun fair rides. We also saw a chainsaw carving exhibition.

Beckerings Reservoir - Luton Angling Club

Beckerings Park Farm Reservoir is a 5 Acre irrigation reservoir and has been fished by Luton AC members since 1987 with almost the entire stock of fish being introduced by the Club since that time.

At a glance the Club records will show the excellent fishing that Beckerings Reservoir can provide with Carp to 34lb, Bream to 9lb,Tench over 8lb, Rudd to over 3lb, Roach approaching 3lb and Pike to Mid-Twenties.

Fishing is available from the 27 platforms only, the majority of these platforms are 8' x 6', and are separated by willows. The Fishery is open all year.
