It was a fun day exploring Castillo Hidalgo on Cerro Santa Lucia here in Santiago Chile. Also popped over into Barrio Lastarria and Parque Forestal. All beautiful areas! Santiago really has some nice places to spend the day walking around. :)

It's farewell to the great friendly Chilean capitol Santiago, and the end of the 23 day journey to Antarctica and South America. 3.2009. Some glimpses of 2 museums, Precolumbino and Bellas Artes as well as the Castillo Hidalgo and various architectures.
We stayed at the Andes Hostel in the area, great friendly place just 2blocks away fr Hidalgo and Bellas Artes, plenty of inexpensive wine and markets.

Santa Lucía Hill (Spanish: Cerro Santa Lucía) is a small hill in the centre of Santiago, Chile. It is situated between Alameda del Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins in the south.
An adjacent metro station is named after it. The hill has an altitude of 629 m and a height of 69 m over the surrounding area. The hill is the remnant of a volcano 15 million years old.
