A walk in the Autumn sunshine.
Cunninghame Ramblers: Misty Law, Clyde Muirshiel 081016
This is a quick video slideshow of the Cunninghame Ramblers walk to Misty Law in Clyde Murshiel regional park on Saturday 8th of October 2016.
The walk started from the car park of the Castle Semple Visitor Centre in Lochwinnoch, crossed the River Calder on a minor road to the north of the town up to Muirfauldhouse Farm.
From the farm we went through a gate on to the moor following a grassy track which becomes more distinct as we progressed.
It was simply a matter of following this track to the top of Misty Law (well to within approximately 50 yards of the summit) which made the going relatively straight forward.
From the summit we backtracked a little to a T-junction on the path and took the branch leading down to the Maich Water where we walked along side the Maich Water until we reached some ruins on our left hand side.
From the ruins we picked up an ATV track and followed it over the shoulder of Lairdside Hill to pick up our outward route and thence back to Lochwinnoch.
The distance was approximately 10.5 miles and the total ascent was approximately 2,100 feet - Misty Law is 1662 feet high so the extra 500 feet of ascent come from all the ups and downs getting there and back.
A big thank you to our walk leader, Robin for an excellent squelchy walk today, Cheers.
