The Yorkshire Trekker, goes it alone for the first walk of 2019, taking in the thriving wildlife of St. Aidens Nature Reserve in Allerton Bywater, Castleford, West Yorkshire. An old open cast mining site, it is now a popular Nature Reserve with several walks of varying length, popular with walkers, horse riders, cyclists and bird watchers.

At the planning hearing to demolish Lister Baths only 2 people are allowed access to voice people's objections. Outside people who travelled from Featherstone protest.
Featherstone's Lister Baths swimming pool was opened in May 1910. Thousands attended the opening ceremony which was carried out by coal mine owner John Cunliffe Lister. John gifted the amenity to the people of the town as a show of his appreciation for the work they did at the local collieries.

A pair of doting schoolgirl's have set up their very own 'hogspital' after rescuing 400 hedgehogs in their back garden.
Sophie Smith and Kyra Barboutis, both 13, from Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warks, started helping their four-legged friends at the young age of nine.
Since setting up their very own rescue centre, the girls now both have their own mini clinics in their back gardens where they take care of hedgehogs around the clock - with local vets even relying on the girls to provide after care to their spiky patients.
The teenagers have now saved over 400 hedgehogs and currently have 15 in their care as many of their Autumn tenants are being set back in to the wild for summer.

These are the harrowing final moments of a woman who was allegedly murdered by her abusive husband in Brazil. Terrifying footage shows Tatiane Spitzner sprinting away from Luis Manvailer as he chases her through an underground garage. She runs into a lift where he pummels her with punches and kicks before strangling her to death and throwing her body from their fourth-floor balcony, police allege.

Rampworx Skatepark: Foam Pit Ramp, Biggest in UK
We decided to build the biggest Foam Pit possible in our skatepark in Liverpool. This ramp is huge!! We doubt you have seen a Foam Pit like it anywhere else in the world, i mean it even has lights! The Foam pit itself has three separate entry points, a launch on the front of the ramp a quarter pipe on the left hand side and a roll-in on the right hand side. With all these entry points you can practice every trick you can think of, safely!
To get into this ramp we have also built a huge roll-in ramp which will give you so much speed when dropping in you don't even have to think about peddling or pushing to go harder, you will just fly!
Our foam pit is that big that it took two huge arctic trucks full of our specially customised foam to fill it all. The foam has been specifically designed to cushion impact in an optimal way to disperse the users density. We even had a special foam scientist figure all this magic stuff out for us to make sure that it was just right.
Rampworx Skatepark is a charity ( and we will continue to help young and professional riders progress in the sports we all love. Keep you eyes pealed for our next build project, starting very soon!!
