My Dorset UK cycling commute
Commuter cycling in Poole, Dorset with Apidura luggage. I must have one of the best commutes, very privileged. My direct commute is 18Km for I often extend that commute around Poole Harbour or out on the Castleman to Ringwood and down through Christchurch to Bournemouth.

A day in the life of 34002 Salisbury on The Castlemans Railway
A series of shots taken of the 11:30 service from Holmsley to Ashley Heath. We follow Bulleid Pacific 34002 Salisbury on it's journey. The loco performed flawlessly for the whole day!
Ashley Heath Halt Dorset (Disused Railway Station)
Ashley Heath Halt situated on The Castleman Trailway formerly the Southampton To Dorchester Railway. This halt was between West Moors and Ringwood closed in 1964. It still has a platform and sign intact which is unusual for this stretch of line.
Exploring The Lady Wimborne Bridge (Disused Railway Bridge)
The enchanting Lady Wimborne Bridge near Wimborne Dorset once carried the Southampton To Dorchester Railway aka the Castleman Corkscrew. On the video we explore the former trackbed at the top but find little sign of a railway ever being there.
New Forest Railway, 1950's - Film 6651
New Forest Railway. Amateur home movie footage of a railway station. Exterior of the station with a car park in front. A grey van is parked outside. The station is probably Westmoore. A shot inside the ticket office through the open door. The platform and tracks curve round to the right hand side, and in the distance two men can be seen crossing the track by foot with brown sacks which they throw onto the opposite platform.
A steam train approaches the station pulling timbered and open wagons. Another locomotive approaches the platform from the other direction. Shots of a long train of passenger carriages as the engine departs through the station. Another passenger train steams towards the station. A ticket machine is on a white washed wall. Tickets cost 2d.
A man waits at Holmsley station as a passenger train approaches. Various further shots of trains passing through stations. The driver of locomotive 82028 talks to onlookers from his cab (we see only the engine driver).
Shots of Breamore railway station - its buildings and platforms. The sign outside the ticket office reads Closed, although the door is open and we can see through onto the platform. A wider shot of the exterior reveals two large black cars parked outside. An exterior brick work staircase leads down to the side of the track, and a brick arched road bridge goes overhead. The sign by the side of the track is a warning to stop, look and listen before crossing. This station is Fordingbridge. General shots of the platforms and the station's outbuildings.
A train passes through the station at Verwood, and guards in uniform wait at a larger station as a passenger train approaches.

New Forest Travels 1
Brief travel from just off the A31 near Ringwood, Hampshire, UK, through New Forest town Burley then via open forest on to the old Holmesley Station then stopping on the straight road built on the old Castlemans Corkscrew railway line. Note bicycle race in progress, also a motorcycle club convoy. This a test of a Spy Pen Camera bought for £11 ($15) on Ebay Post Free HK. Has 640x480 AVI 30 fps video, 4Gb memory (there are 8Gb versions) and a very sensitive microphone. Here its clipped to Satnav mount. Slight picture degrading effect due to the tinted screen. This camera is designed more for covert surveilance. Incidently the chinese bulk factory gate price for these is less than £6 ($9) yet currently a US Surveillance Equipment Company has them on sale for $299 (about £220).
Right Product, Right Place, Right Time
Whilst driving to Bournemouth with his wife John Holme noticed how unhappy the people caught in a traffic jam at Ashley Heath roundabout on the spur road near Ringwood. I think that they need cheering up he said to his wife and so the next time he was in the area donned his DJ and entertained the unsuspecting motorists to gentle strains of the like of Rogers and Hammersteinss. The motorists kindly responded by throwing anything from £25 - £40 an hour at him and so encouraged by their appreciation he continued for the next 8 years until such time that an underpass alleviated the problem. Task completed he moved on to the next 'witty invention'
50 Years ago - The Old Road
As 2016 approaches its end we look back half a century to a momentous year in British Railway history, during which many well-known secondary main lines and larger branch lines were closed for good. This clip features The Old Road, the former LSWR's original main line from Southampton to Dorchester, part of which, from Brockenhurst through Ringwood and Wimborne to Hamworthy Junction, had become effectively redundant as long ago as 1888 when the Bournemouth Direct opened through New Milton. On 16th October 1966 we see a double-headed railtour passing over the River Stour at Wimborne and then at the junction for the old S&DJR - West Moors, the S&DJR being the Salisbury & Dorset Junction Railway, whose junction points are seen at the end of the clip, its rails beyond here having been completely lifted during that year.

Grey Porsche Cayenne P1PRB on A31 from Ringwood to Cadnam and seems to lack any understanding the concept of KEEP LEFT. Also has trouble using indicators properly.
