Sochi, on the coast of the Black Sea, is one of the warmer Russian cities.

It's a beautiful place and an important spot for naval trade and traffic.

It was, in part, to celebrate this fact that the Sochi Maritime Terminal was built in 1955.

The terminal's key feature is its tall spire, nearly 235 feet tall.

It also has four statues built around the tower, one for each of the cardinal directions.

Located right on the water, the Sochi Maritime Terminal is a key landmark for the city.

Kazan is a city in southwest Russia, on the banks of the Volga and Kazanka rivers. The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, a semi-autonomous region, it's known for the centuries-old Kazan Kremlin, a fortified citadel containing museums and sacred sites. Kremlin landmarks include the tiered Tower of Soyembika, the blue-and-gold domed Annunciation Cathedral and the vast, colorful Kul Sharif Mosque.

Belarus President Calls on People to Remember Lesson from WWII

Belarus held a military parade in Minsk on Saturday to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War.

The parade attended by President Alexander Lukashenko and local residents involved over 5,000 soldiers along with 250 weapons.

Apart from infantry soldiers, there were also fighter planes. Russian soldiers and weapons and US military band were invited to add some exotic flavor.

Lukashenko said at the ceremony that Belarus had gone through a tough path and made great sacrifices in World War II. He hopes his people will learn from the war and defend the hard-won victory.

When Europe fell into the hand of Fascists, Japan went on the road to Fascism. But we finally won our victory, destroyed the colonial system. The human beings regained their freedom and recreate the world, said Velyzanov Ilya, a retired veteran.

On the same day, Russia also held a grand military parade in the Red Square, Moscow. Leaders from more than 20 countries and regions were invited to celebrate the victory together. More on:
