L’entrée principale se fait depuis une rue étroite Il n’est donc pas facile d’apercevoir le bâtiment ,La façade est décorée avec des pilastres toscans décoratifs et 3 frontons triangulaires Au dessus de la porte principal, une grande rosace en vitraux éclaire l’intérieur
Le batiment se contourne uniquement d’un côté (par le Passage de la Cathédrale)Il se voit le mieux depuis la petite placei de la cathédrale. C’est seulement depuis ce point de vue que l’on voit un clocher unique sur le côté et de couleur différente du reste de l’édifice.À l’intérieur, le style est gothique. Dôtée de 3 nefs et de 5 travées, l’ensemble est assez sombre . Le choeur de tyle néo-classique est cependant plus lumineux et les 3 vitraux qui le décore représentent Saint François de Sales Deux autels, et deux pupitres en bois sculptés complètent l’ensemble.
Un orgue imposant, restauré et classé monument historique, emplit les lieux de sonorités puissantes il surplombe la porte principale et s’élève jusqu’à la rosace. De plus de 7 mètres de haut, il pèse 10 tonnes et comporte 2000 tuyaux.
L’édification de l’église Saint Maurice commence en 1422 et s’achève au début du 16e siècle.n
L’église est bâtie sur le modèle des églises de l’ordre des Dominicains qui privilégie la largeur du vaisseau principal pour permettre l’accueil de vastes assemblées.
Un riche patrimoine artistique
Des oeuvres d’art méritent l’attention : une chaire sculptée du début du 18e siècle et surtout l'exceptionnelle peinture funéraire ) du tombeau de Philibert de Monthoux, conseiller des ducs de Savoie et de Bourgogne. Au début du 19e siècle, l’église devient église paroissiale et prend le nom de saint Maurice en souvenir de l'ancienne église de la paroisse qui se situait près du château.

Rennes Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church located in the town of Rennes, France. It is a monument historique since 1906. The cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Rennes, Dol, and Saint-Malo, previously Bishop of Rennes.
The site has been used for a cathedral more or less from the beginnings of the see in the 6th century. The earliest building was completely replaced by a Gothic cathedral in the 12th century, of which in 1490 the tower and the entire west front collapsed. The existing façade with its neoclassical granite towers in four stages was constructed over the next two centuries or so, with long gaps between the different stages: the lowest level was built between 1541 and 1543, the second from 1640 to 1654 (by Tugal Caris), and the fourth (by Pierre Corbineau) from 1654 to 1678. Yet another architect, François Hoguet, completed the towers, between 1679 and 1704, at their present height of 48 metres and added the device of Louis XVI between them.
The nave and choir however had not been restored. During vespers on 11 February 1754 a great stone fell from the roof of the choir, and it was decided, before the entire body of the cathedral collapsed, to demolish all these parts and rebuild them. The demolition was carried out between 1756 and 1768, leaving only the towers and west front standing. Rebuilding began in 1787, shortly after which the French Revolution began and all work was suspended. It did not recommence until 1816, initially under the supervision of the architect Mathurin Crucy. He died in 1826; the work was continued under the local architect Louis Richelot, and finished in 1845.
The original decoration was in a plain neo-classical style, but during the 19th century it was extensively refurbished with gilt, stucco and paintings (inspired by those in the Parliament of Rennes) to create a more sumptuous appearance. Characteristic of this cathedral is the contrast between the rich decoration, including, in front of the altar, slabs of rare marble from the Roman Forum, a gift from Pope Pius IX, and the sombre granite of the structure.
Between 1803 and 1844, because the cathedral was unusable, the abbey church of Our Lady in Saint Melaine of Rennes (French: Notre-Dame-en-Saint-Melaine de Rennes) served as a pro-cathedral. This church is dedicated to Saint Melaine, traditionally the first Bishop of Rennes, buried here in the 6th century. The present buildings were constructed in the 17th century, and were badly damaged during World War II.

The castle of Montrottier is a former stronghold of the xiii th century, rebuilt several times and restored in the xix th century, which stands on the town of Lovagny in the department of Haute-Savoie region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes , in a dozen kilometers west of Annecy, near the Gorges du Fier .
As historical monuments ; the donjon, the main building of the Knights and the tower of the Nun are the subject of a classification by decree of the1 st September 1919 ; the grounds surrounding the castle are classified by order of the January 5 , 1935 ; the farm and the buildings composing the castle except the classified parts are the subject of a partial inscription by decree of the November 3 , 1987.
The castle of Montrottier is located in the French department of Haute-Savoie in the municipality of Lovagny , in the Savoyard foreland . It stands 1 kilometer southeast of the village on a hill of 445 meters above sea level that dominates the whole country. From the walkway , the view embraces the hilly countryside and extends beyond the mountains overlooking Lake Annecy to Mont Blanc. Raised on a rocky peak, encircled by the old bed of the Fier ; La Grande-Fosse, he watched the passage of the river Le Fier on the road connecting Chambery to Geneva .
The Montrottier Castle is in the form of a pentagonal enclosure built in xiii th century, the shape of the terrain, protected to the north by the Fier gorges around a dungeon isolated cylindrical in a courtyard, square tower , the Tower of the Sisters, houses large and small and a building for the body of the guards. This ensemble is a fine example of medieval Savoyard architecture; the house and tower dating from the xv th century and réemploient elements of xiii th and xiv th centuries.
It is to Pierre de Menthon that we owe the construction of the Logis des Chevaliers, the Logis des Comtes, and the cylindrical dungeon surmounted by machicolation . The latter is built after 1425, blocking rolled pebbles, bricks and gravel, and its apparatus consists of tufa rubble. At a height of 35.6 meters , it has a thick wall of more than 3 meters at its base which is built in large apparatus and talute in the shape of a truncated cone. With five floors, it is accessible by a wooden footbridge from the first floor of the Logis des Comtes located 4 meters above the ground. A staircase of 87 stepsleads to its summit, from where one has a remarkable view. As for the machicolation, which composes the coronation, they rest on a row of triple crows and the three merlons which dominate the road to the south-east are pierced by circular guns.

Prenez le contrôle de la fresque de la cathédrale Saint-Pierre
Durant trois soirs, Coeur de Ville en Lumières va animer l'Écusson avec des fresques lumineuses et sonores projetées sur neuf façades de bâtiments historiques. Parmi elles, la cathédrale Saint-Pierre avec un dispositif interactif mis au point par la société ID Scènes. Le public pourra prendre le contrôle de la fresque en jouant avec les images fixes imaginées par Manon Berrety, la musique d'Alexandre Ehrsam ou les dessins des enfants de l'école Lamartin. Yan Kaimakis, chef de projet chez ID Scènes, nous présente ce dispositif.
Cloches : Genève (CH-GE) Cathédrale Saint Pierre - Clémence & Grand Plenum
Bien qu'un évêché s'installe a Genève au IVe siècle, une présence sur ce lieu est attestée vers 4500 avant Jésus Christ. Le premier édifice religieux sur la colline est bâti entre 370 et 375 sur les ruines d'un sanctuaire romain. Cette cathédrale est suppléée par un autre édifice au sud, puis un dernier à l'ouest, pour former un ensemble architectural au VIIe siècle. Aux alentours de l'an mille, la cathédrale commence à prendre forme. Un seul édifice en remplace trois. La religion catholique est étroitement liée au pouvoir et à la politique en ce début du second millénaire. Genève est intégrée au Saint Empire en 1032, participe aux croisades et accueille le sacre de Conrad le Salique, roi de Bourgogne. En 1158, sous l'impulsion d'Arducius de Faucigny, prince-évêque de Genève, une nouvelle cathédrale est bâtie. Elle sera consacrée en 1288. Elle fera l'objet de restaurations presque constantes et de nombreux remaniements. Au cours du XIVe siècle, la peste met à mal Genève et les incendies affaiblissent la cathédrale, qui se voit une nouvelle fois remaniée. En 1430, la flèche et la tour Sud sont abattues suite à un nouvel incendie. Au début du XVe siècle, le Cardinal de Brogny - à qui on doit l'église Saint Maurice d'Annecy - fait édifier la chapelle attenante des Macchabées. Au début du XVIe siècle, la tour Sud se voit décorée dans le style gothique flamboyant. Quelques années plus tard, la Réforme arrive à Genève. Elle est le fruit de la forte croyance des genevois et de leur esprit critique. La dernière messe à Saint Pierre est interrompue et les prêtres sont chassés. Calvin n'a aucun mal à prêcher sa Réforme. Sous la religion catholique, la cathédrale était énormément décorée. Les iconoclastes genevois n'hésitent pas a détruire les retables et les autels et à supprimer les fresques murales. Devenue la Rome Protestante, la cité accueille en 1572 des réfugiés protestants en masse suite au massacre de la Saint Barthélemy. En 1602, le guet de la cathédrale permet à Genève de contrer la tentative savoyarde de dominer la cité. Alors qu'il entend des coups de feu, il actionne la cloche du Tocsin, encore en place, qui est vite relayée par les autres clochers. C'est au XVIIIe siècle qu’apparaît la façade gallo-romaine de la cathédrale. Genève voit grandir Jean Jacques Rousseau, ce qui engendre, comme en France, une Révolution, qui voit apparaître la Démocratie, ou presque. Comme en France, la cathédrale devint un monument laïc et républicain. Genève est rattachée à la France en 1798 pour 15 années. La cathédrale restera un monument pour la gloire de la France car les préfets y prêtent serment. Après un ballottage de deux ans, Genève devient Suisse en 1815. Entre 1880 et 1890, la cathédrale subit une cure de jouvence. En 1884, la tour nord est reconstruite et rehaussée. Ces travaux feront l'objet de nombreuses critiques. Dans un même temps, la flèche, remplacée par un clocheton après de nombreux incendies, est reconstruite avec une armature en fer recouverte de cuivre. Aujourd'hui, la cathédrale est ancrée dans la vie des Genevois comme symbole religieux par des cérémonies protestantes et œcuméniques, mais aussi comme monument laïc.
