STORYLINE:
Christianity in China is thriving, as Chinese people search for answers amid tumultuous economic and social changes in the country and Jiangsu province through which the Olympic torch is currently passing is no exception.
At this seminary in Nanjing, in eastern China's Jiangsu province, 22-year-old student Liu Guanqun is training to be a protestant vicar.
Liu studies theology, sings in the church choir, attends daily mass and studies in the library. He has absolute certainty that his life will be dedicated to God, and to teaching Chinese people about Christianity.
In China, there is room, and a platform for Chinese people like me to understand Christian beliefs and to help more people become Christians, explained Liu.
The seminary was founded in 1952, by China's governmental organisation, the Committee of Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches.
