Catrigg Force and Stainforth Force Walk from Stainforth
Click here: for the full 21 minute video (including OS map and printable walk directions). A circular from Stainforth taking in two of the most picturesque waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales. The walk begins in Stainforth and crosses Stainforth Beck by way of stepping stones, before climbing a track to reach Catrigg Force, a waterfall with about a twenty foot drop, set in a secluded woody copse. The height gained affords views of Ingleborough and Penyghent. The walk then continues with its lofty outlook as it drops down to Langcliffe and crosses the River Ribble. The bank of the river is followed back upstream to reach Stainforth Force, a series of small cascades and one larger drop. The bank here is a very popular spot for picnics in summer! The walk finishes by passing over the quaint packhorse bridge, built in 1675 by Samuel Watson, to head back up into Stainforth.

Northern Soul - Episode 1 - Yorkshire Caves and Waterfalls
This is Episode 1 in a series of videos that I am going to be undertaking for Northern Soul magazine ( ) to try and show some of the great natural glories of The North of England. One of those natural glories is a wonderful and varied landscape which holds some of England's highest peaks, deepest lakes and highest waterfalls. Living in northern England, one tends to find that much of what is contained in the press is London-centric, and over time a feeling develops that anything outside of the M25 orbital motorway is not worth writing about, so Northern Soul magazine developed to cover all aspects of life and culture in the north of England and features some great northern writers, poets, artists, food etc.
This first episode is a circular walk above Settle in the South West of the Yorkshire Dales and takes in the natural features such as Scaleber Force, Victoria Cave, Limestone Country and the small market town of Settle.
If you like it, give it the Thumbs Up and do feel free to share.
Many thanks,

Hiking in the Yorkshire Dales
Going around with a few lads from the hiking club. One of the places inspired JRR Tolkien the idea of Mordor, because of all the marshes and damp.
