Cavalia gallops to Australia
Cavalia in Australia - Channel 7 News March 24, 2013
On Sunday, March 24, Cavalia cast and crew opened their hearts, White Big Top and stables to a very special little boy - David Hamilton. At four years old, he is bravely battling a malignant brain tumor.
David has a special love for animals. Last year, his older brother Michael had a pony birthday party and he sat briefly on one of them. It was a moment of bliss for him. He has recently seen a clip of Cavalia on the television and said he would love to see the magnificent horses. When Brisbane's local family radio station, 96 Five FM, approached Cavalia with his story, there was no hesitation -- this little man had to come in and be treated like a superstar!
Every cast and crew member of Cavalia was involved in making David's visit extraordinary -- including all 44 horses. Prior to the show, David shared brunch with the cast and crew, was treated to a private stable tour, made an appearance at the Tapis Bleu; a private meeting with the artists and the artistic team and took pictures with the horses and riders backstage.
He also enjoyed front row seats with his family to experience the magic of Cavalia.
Channel 7 News was on site in Brisbane, Australia, to capture this special day for David and his family.

Cavalia blind touch tour
Blind and visually impaired children were invited to meet the equine stars of Cavalia.
Created by Normand Latourelle, co-founder of Cirque du Soleil, Cavalia is a multi-media multi-disciplined production that combines international aerialists, dancers, acrobats and musicians with a large team of trained horses.
In between curtains, Cavalia have been inviting blind and visually impaired children on interactive sensory tours with the help of Vision Australia. The children involved have been able to touch, groom, feed the horses, feel their heartbeats and listen to them run; and experience firsthand the profound relationship between horse and human.
Cavalia will be in Melbourne Docklands until 15 September, Adelaide from 02-27 October and Perth from 04-29 December.

Cavalia: a Dazzling Display of Horse Power and Beauty
A show that has charmed millions of people in other parts of the world is now playing in the United States. What makes Cavalia special is that the stars are horses, riders, and acrobats who combine to create a visual extravaganza. Breshna Omarkhel of VOA's Afghanistan Service produced the piece. It is narrated by Penelope Poulou.
Cavalia on the Today Show's Entertainment Report with Rickard Wilkins
Cavalia's National Australian Premiere was in Brisbane on March 6 2013, and Richard Wilkins was attending under the White Big Top.
Here's what he had to say on the Today Show's Entertainment Report:
Good morning again and greetings from beautiful Brisbane where last night I had the pleasure of seeing one of the most incredible live shows I've ever seen, it's called Cavalia. It's absolutely extraordinary. It was created by one of the founders of Cirque du Soleil and it has very much a Cirque feel although it's unlike anything you've ever seen before. It's described as a magical encounter between human and horse and that pretty much sums it up. These animals are just incredible, the trainers and the riders and the aerialists who swing around this incredible stage, the trapeze artists, the acrobats. It's actually the biggest show touring the planet, 120 semi-trailers, 44 horses, 35 live performers on stage and the screens and the whole things it's an incredible event. It's called Cavalia. It's heading off around the country, I'm going to put the details of tickets and stuff on the website and I'll tweet them throughout the day. But look if you get the chance to see this, it's a show for the whole family and it really is terrific. Cavalia: I'm thrilled that I got the chance to see it and tell you about it.
