White Marlin Gran Canaria

In this episode Piker Biker joins forces with some new found fishing friends; Michael Randazzo with his girlfriend Angela Codispoti and Nicholas Tasca on board the White Marlin, a sport fishing catamaran of 12 meters in length and 4 meters in width. The fishing grounds are off the Southern tip of the Spanish Island of Gran Canaria. With some other Russian and German fishermen, we go out exploring the Atlantic Ocean for hard fighting Sharks and Yellow Jacks using bottom fishing tactics at 120 meters depth and 7 kilometres from shore, using squid and mackerel strips for bait.

Bodemvissen met de White Marlin Puerto Rico Gran Canaria 1- 15 apr 2019

We hebben leuke roggen gevangen, diverse soorten snappers etc.  Maar we hadden ook dit jaar erg veel last van enorme kogelvissen (balloonfish Eng ) tussen 40-50 cm. Die waren vooral aanwezig op de diepere plekken die ons en de schipper zo geliefd zijn rond de 90 m. Ze bijten je lijnen van dyneema maar ook van staal zomaar doormidden. En niet alleen bij je haak ! Deze blauwe kogelvissen zijn erg giftig dus je kan er ook niets mee.  Op zich mooie vissen hoor maar veel te veel nu. Duizenden ! Op dieptes van rond de 40 m viel het mee maar daar heb je ook minder soorten vis helaas. Maar gelukkig iedere keer wel een aantal roggen vangen waarvan de max dit jaar op 20 -25 kg lag.

P.s de grote schildpad van 30-40 kg die per ongeluk de hele sardine pakte van Yvonne zwemt weer vrolijk rond hoor!
Naast de boot ging hij gelukkig los. Accidents happen !
