Living Life on Cavanal, Worlds Largest Hill - Poteau, Oklahoma
Christmas Day2012 it snowed here in Poteau and on top of Cavanal where we live it snowed 6-7. We live on a very high hill with a very steep driveway which means that there is almost NO leaving. If you do happen to make it down in the daytime it will require walking back up the hill at night. The Kiger family has officially started our New Years exercise program! Ha Ha

I COULD HAVE DIED!
Poteau, Oklahoma
I was born in Poteau, Oklahoma and lived there until age 18 when I moved to Stillwater, OK to attend Oklahoma State University. In my youth Poteau had a population of about 5,000 people. Today is almost twice that number. Quite a few of my middle school/high school friends still live there. I enjoyed growing up there in the Choctaw Nation, had a lot of freedom to roam the countryside on our bicycles and later in automobiles. We did not dare do anything unacceptable because we knew someone would report to our parents! Southeastern OK is now promoted as Green Country (even most people in the state don't know how beautiful that part of Oklahoma is with national forests, rivers, lakes). I cherish much of my experience in the state but am glad I decided to leave and expand my awareness of the country and the world. This little video captures some of my memories. Enjoy!
