We just got back from Cuba. We went to Melia in Cayo Guillermo. It was a really good trip! We went for 2 weeks. We moved rooms because the first room was leaking in the shower when the person above us showered and their water was coming into our shower... kinda nasty but it was good that we got to move the next day. The black that we took the bus to get to was Pilar beach and it was really cool! If you go to this resort, definitely take a trip to Pilar beach! A couple times the water ran out when a lot of people would take showers in the resort, like before dinner tome or in the evenings around 9pm all the way through until after midnight we didn’t have water to shower, this only happened twice but the last three days of the trip 250 more people arrived and we found there wasn’t water in the evenings with that many people and it was hard to find chairs by the pool because people would put towels on the chairs and leave to go somewhere else just to have their chair saved when they came back. (Don’t be a dick and do that...) and the last three days the buffet was always really busy when the extra 250 people came. Food wasn’t too bad, it was as expected for Cuba, but we don’t come for the food, we come to be in the heat and be by the ocean. (We live in Canada). It was a nice resort but I’m not sure if I’d go back just because of the water situation and when it’s busy you can’t find a chair or you have to wait to go to the buffet because it’s full. Other than that it was a good resort.
