New Yorker tries the Mexico City CDMX Metro for the First Time POV : No A/C, Hot and Uncomfortable
Google Maps Route:
I tried the Mexico City CDMX Metro for the first time as a New Yorker to get from the Zocalo to my Airbnb in Colonia Juárez. It was hot, very crowded, and really uncomfortable. I did feel that pickpocketing might be an issue. I emptied my pockets and put the contents in my backpack, which I wore in front of me. On the other hand, the metro ran pretty smoothly, the stations were absolutely clean and sanitary, maps were easy to understand, it was extremely inexpensive, and trains were frequent.

The Subway Gangs of Mexico City
It's Saturday morning in a Mexico City subway station, and the members of the Panamiur gang are headed to a party. Their leader, Cidel, is wearing huge sunglasses, a fauxhawk slathered in hair gel, cargo pants, and a T-shirt with a giant 2 and 6 airbrushed across it—a reference to November 26, 2010, the date the Panamiurs were founded.
The four dozen kids surrounding Cidel are similarly adorned in fake gold chains, oversize shades, brightly colored baseball caps, and tight jeans. They shout chants at a member of a rival gang on the other side of the platform. Jori's fucking mom is taking a bath, eh, oh!, they holler. She's very close to our territory, eh, oh! With a huge dick in one hand and a rag with PVC glue in the other, eh, oh! And the gang says, we are gonna rape her, we are gonna rape her. Hard, hard in the ass! Fucking bitch! .....

CDMX - Mexico City Metro Compilation
The Mexico City Metro is the second largest subway system in North America, after the New York City Subway. It has twelve subway lines (Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, and 12) 195 stations, of which 15 of them are outside of the city. Roughly 4.6 million people ride the subway every day, in a metropolitan area that is home to approximately 23 million people. Here is a compilation of videos from my travels around the Metro, not all lines are shown here.

CDMX - Mexico City Metro Line B
Take a ride on Mexico City Metro Line B from the Rio de los Remedios station to the Olimpicos station in the Mexico City suburb of Ecatepec in the State of Mexico. Line B is one of two lines that cross into the State of Mexico, the other being Line A. Had these lines not crossed into the suburbs, Line A would be numbered Line 10, and Line B would be numbered Line 11. (Please note: this video was filmed outside the window of the subway cars as there were no clean windows on any car and the windows are wide open due to no air conditioning on any trains.)
Dirtiest Subway? New York vs Mexico City
What do you think? Who's subway is the dirtiest? New York's Subway (the greatest city in the world ha, ha, ha) or Mexico City's Metro, a city which has a population of 21 million people. Here is a visual comparison so you can decide, leave your comments below.

Mylungpuppy is the channel of musician Ron Anderson.
I have been making avant-music for over forty years in a number of different projects; PAK, The Molecules, RonRuins, numerous collaborations and solo. I combine composition and improvisation exploring the regions where they intersect. Sometimes my music is brutal, but I’m not afraid of melody, in general my work is pretty much out there.
The main focus of my channel is music, but I also make vlogs on various subjects, cycling, touring and traveling, vegan food, rare vinyl LPs, audio field recordings, etc. Because not everyone is going to be interested in all the subjects covered on this channel, I have made playlists so you do not have to search through videos to find what you are looking for.
I try to answer questions and respond to as many comments as I can, any and all feedback from you is welcome.
I'm trying to make at least one or two new videos a week.

????????MEXICO CITY - IS IT SAFE? As a long term traveller and Digital Nomad, I've been spent approximatley 5 months of 2018 in Mexico, with most of this time spent in Mexico City. One question I am asked a lot is Is Mexico City safe?. My short answer to this, is YES.
In this video I talk about exactly why I believe Mexico City is perfectly safe for tourists, backpackers, long term travellers and Digital Nomads, from Transport in Mexico City, researching where to stay, Subway advice, using your common sense and taking responsibility for your possessions and actions.
What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

CDMX - Metrobus Bus Rapid Transit Compilation
Metrobus is Mexico City's Bus Rapid Transit system. With 7 lines and around 700 buses, Metrobus is the fastest and easiest way to get around Mexico City. The first line, along Avenida de los Insurgentes, started in 2005 and is the busiest line in the network. The newest line, Line 7, runs along the Paseo de la Reforma which is the most important street in the entire city. Avenida de los Insurgentes is the second most important street in all of Mexico City. Metrobus serves all corners of the city including Indios Verdes, Chapultepec, Tacubaya, and the airport. Lines 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 use high-floor BRT buses, specifically designed to allow boarding from high platforms to match the bus' floor. Line 4 uses 40-foot low floor buses due to the route passing through the narrow streets of the historic downtown; Line 7 uses double-decker low-floor buses possibly due to reluctance to reconstruct the beautiful Paseo de la Reforma to allow for unsightly BRT stations.

⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Walking Mexico City CDMX : Polanco (Beverly Hills of Mexico City)
Google Maps Route:
Enjoy this walk in the Polanco area of Mexico City CDMX. I start from the Miyana Shopping Mall and travel on Av Moliere, Avenida Homero, Avenida Horacio, Av. Pdte. Masaryk, and end at Lincoln Park.
From Wikipedia:
Polanco is the main urban upscale district in Mexico City, part of the Miguel Hidalgo borough, located north of Chapultepec Park and consisting of five official neighborhoods (colonias).
Polanco is often called the Beverly Hills of Mexico City. Indeed it is home to the city's densest concentration of upscale shopping, hotels and restaurants, embassies, high-end car dealerships and home furnishings shops, many of the city's most important museums, and together with adjacent Nuevo Polanco, Mexican headquarters of many multinational companies. As a residential area, the neighborhood is culturally diverse, and many super-rich, politicians, celebrities, artists and businessmen call the area home.
The street names of Polanco incorporate an eclectic mix of the world's philosophers, writers, scientists and even a Czech president: Avenida Presidente Masaryk, a street with some of the highest rents and most upscale boutiques in Latin America. Latin America's largest department store is located in Polanco as well as six shopping malls.
