Cecret Lake, Albion Basin, Wasatch Mountains, Utah
The hike to Cecret Lake in the Albion Basin is a wonderful quick trip to an alpine lake. In Summer the windflowers are out in full force. On our adventure up in The Wasatch we saw a cow moose, learned about axolotl salamanders, and watched a few ferrets running around.
Get outside and enjoy this gorgeous trail in northern Utah.

Lake Blanche Trail is a 6.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Salt Lake City, UT that features a waterfall and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from June until October.
This is a VERY strenuous hike! Plan to stop several times to catch your breath. If you want exercise, this is the hike for you! The hike is a lot of work, but it is well worth it.
The views down into the canyon below are breathtaking. Just prior to arriving at the lake, parts of Salt Lake City are also visible from the trail. There is plenty of wildlife and an abundant variety of trees, flowers, and everything else Utah's great outdoors has to offer!
This is a very difficult hike, but is very satisfying to complete. Everyone should do it at least once!

Hiking in Little Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City, Utah. We hiked up to Cecret Lake at an elevation of 9750 feet. I used the YouTube enhancements thing and it messed up some of the time lapse videos i did while i was up there.

Waterfall-Hiking along Lake Mary Trail - Little Cottonwood Canyon Utah - Mid July 2011
Beautiful Waterfall - Mid July 2011 hiking in Little Cottonwood Canyon - Lake Mary Trail, rambling past rock-lined lakes, alpine cirques, wildflower dotted meadows, and through silent forests. From the Little Cottonwood end, the trail climbs to Catherine Pass in about one mile, where a spur trail leads south to Sunset Peak. Dropping to Lake Catherine, Lake Martha, then Lake Mary, the largest, with a possible side trip to Dog Lake, the trail eases on down to the parking lot at Brighton. This short video is a waterfall down from Lake Mary towards Dog Lake.
Ensign Peak Nature Park - Full
Ensign Peak Nature Park is located in Salt Lake City, Utah on Vista View Dr. This trail is very close to down town Salt lake, approximately 1 mile north of the Utah State Capital. Round trip the trail is less than 1 mile . This video features both lookouts available in the nature park, one of which is paved the entire way.
This trail is steep but short, so should be accessible, even if you are not acclimated to activity at altitude. The trail to the lower lookout is fairly steep, but paved the entire way so easily accessed. The trail has little vegetation when you leave the trail-head, so I would not recommend hiking this trail in the afternoon of the hottest months.
If there is anything about his trail you think should be included, a question you have about the hike, or a trail you would like to see, please leave it in the comments.
