Mt Tamborine & Cedar Creek Fall
Cedar Creek Falls - these waterfalls are spectacular in the wet season and offer a year-round natural swimming pool at the base of the falls. They are set in a natural rock amphitheatre. The flora and fauna will amaze you, particularly the strangler figs, red and white cedars and wild orchids. There are also bush walks up and around the falls. Majestic Alexandra Palms line the creek as it continues its journey to the ocean.

AUSTRALIA: Cedar Creek Falls & Lamington National Park
Finally posting some more videos after a much too long hiatus!
Cedar Creek Falls in Mt. Tamborine is beautiful! It was a bit tricky to find, but worth the trip. It wasn't too busy, although we went on a Monday, so maybe it's busier on the weekends. Either way, just goes to show how beautiful and diverse Australia (especially Queensland) is.
Lamington National Park. We originally drove up to find the heart shaped rock pool (Killarney Glen), but were sadly disappointed once we found out that it was closed for the foreseeable future, due to an unfortunate accident. Here's a blog post so you can see what I'm talking about:
So we had to think on our feet, and luckily I had a list of things to do in Southern Queensland on my phone, so we decided to head up to Lamington National Park to do a little hike. We got there and grabbed some lunch at the cute cafe, which was good timing, because it started to rain - hard. We waited until the rain stopped, and then made our journey outside. However, we were stopped by the kind lady in the cafe who warned us about the leeches that come out after rain.
SURVIVAL TIP: Always carry salt on you, because it repels the leeches. (Hence why we're pouring salt on our legs in the end video).
She also told us about a visitor who got a leech in their eye - THEIR EYE!!! It was almost enough to put us off from the whole experience, but we decided to suck it up and go and explore nature, even if it was a little rainy, and a little leech infested.
We only had time for one of the smaller hikes, so I'll try and go back another day for a full day hike. Alas, it was still lovely and enjoyable. In fact, it was a little chilly. We may or may not have gotten lost on the way back, slipped on the mud and fallen on our butts, and had leeches sucking on our legs...
It was still a good time with a beautiful view. Of course, videos never do it justice, but I do what I can!
Also! Like I stated in my Update video, I lost a ton of footage, including some from this hike. Some of that included Farren thinking a leech fell on her, and so she proceeded to take almost all her clothes off, just as some poor older man was exiting the trail. Tragic that I lost that video, honestly.
It was still a good time all in all. THANKS FOR WATCHING FRIENDS. :)

MT TAMBORINE, GOLD COAST
Some say this is the green behind the gold, which makes the Gold Coast so seductive, and it’s easy to see why Tamborine Mountain is in tune with tourists. Let’s start with the rainforest, in the third oldest National Park in the world, which celebrates the remnants of the former Mount Warning volcano. There are numerous walks and lookouts from which to enjoy Mother Nature at her most blindingly brilliant, including the mysteriously-named Witches Falls or charming Cedar Creek.
There’s 12 walking tracks in all and each one is no longer than around 3km, so if you like a stroll among the birds, bees, flowers and the trees, this is for you. For a change of pace, enjoy several wineries, a brewery and even a distillery up on the mountain, which is perfectly punctuated with award-winning restaurants, art galleries, sweeping coastal views and that delicious mix of old and new-world charm.
Indulge in home-grown produce such as avocados, kiwifruits and macadamia nuts as well as award-winning cheeses and fabulous fudge, or dine in some seriously swish restaurants. Select from cosy cottages, decadent dwellings and a hotel or two, including the iconic St Bernard’s Hotel, in which to stay the night.
Explore the area by yourself, or join a tour which takes in a number of attractions such as Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk and the Glow Worm Caves. Romantics rush to the mountains to get married here and it’s easy to see why. For this is Queensland’s own Emerald City. That’s right Dorothy, you are not in Kansas anymore. This is Oz.

Gold Coast Trip 2018 - Day 4 - Curtis Falls and Cedar Creek Falls
We start off at Tamborine Mountain and the Tamborine National Park where we headed to Curtis Falls, a picturesque natural waterfall surrounded by dense forest and wildlife.Fu
The information board reads...
The waterfall before you is called Curtis Falls after the Curtis family. Several siblings moved to Tamborine Mountain in the late 1870s, not long after the first European settlers arrived on the plateu.
It was a good chance to stretch out legs and get some fresh air. We saw what I think was a Potato or some sort of small rock wallaby and there was also a turkey walking around just near the car park, probably looking for a bite to eat.
Afterwards E grabbed lunch and headed to Cedar Creek Falls, another waterfall but this time without too many barriers so people could actually touch and jump into the water.
It was made up of two waterfalls with small pond-like platform separating them.
We were flying home the next day so this was our last full day up at the Gold Coast and it was good to wind down with something a little more relaxing.
