Cefn Mabley Farm Park
One of the last things we did before leaving for Chengdu, was to go to Cefn Mabley Farm in Wales. This old farm has been converted into a home for neglected, old, or retired animals to have a good loved life before they die. It was a tone pf fun and was very inexpensive as well. A must see if you are ever in Wales and want to spend some time around farm animals.

UK Vlog | Cricket World Cup | Wales | London | Climate Change Protests | India - England Flight Trip
Just a small vlog of my trip from India to UK during the second week of July. Yes, it was also the big sporting week as the Cricket World Cup and Wimbledon were both heading for their grand finale. While our trip was a perfect mix of fun and relaxation, I have a fair knowledge about travelling to and within the UK and you can ask me all about it in the COMMENTS section.
While we took an Etihad flight to London via Abu Dhabi, we took a bus right from Heathrow Airport to reach our hotel Travelodge in Manchester Salford Quays. Buses are the best way to travel between cities in the UK, and so are trains. Our stay at the lodge was very comfortable.
It took around six hours to reach Manchester with one or two short stoppages. The bus ride is a picturesque road trip with beautiful sightseeings such as Birmingham, many prominent Universities, old age British Architecture and a lot of greenery.
We watched the first semifinal of the Cricket World Cup 2019 between India and New Zealand live at the Old Trafford cricket stadium. While our team India lost the match, it was an overwhelming experience as the match went on for two days, and the crowd support was breathtaking. So was Ravindra Jadeja's innings.
We then took a train from Manchester to Cardiff, and reached our destination in around four odd hours. We saw many places in Cardiff on the next day, including the Roath Lake, University area, Cardiff Caslte - Castell Caerdydd and Garth Hills.
The following day, we went around the Cardiff Bay Area, which is a nice place to chillout with an exciting and thrilling boat ride around the bay. This was followed by a trip to Ogmore-by-Sea, a beautiful village surrounded by pristine sea water.
We also traveled to Bridgend in Wales, which is a great place for shopping with unique places such as McArthurGlen Designer Outlet and Bridgend Shopping Center.
Our Saturday was relaxed as we visited the Cefn Mably Farm Park, which consists of friendly farm animals such as the Alpaca, Mountain Goat, Welsh Pony, Donky, Pig and Hens. This was followed by a long drive to Skanda Vale, a spiritual center in Carmarthenshire.
While both the Wimbledon final and Cricket World Cup final took place on the same day (14 July) in the same city (London - Wimbledon and Lord's), just at ten minutes distance from each other, I took the rather sensible decision of watching both simultaneously on TV (I didn't have proper tickets as such). And both turned out to be the biggest matches in their respective sport. I have described the tension here:
The next day, we traveled to London, and saw a lot over there, including the Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Big Ben, London Bridge - London Tower, Sagar South Indian Restaurant, London Eye, Madame Tussaud, Sherlock Holmes Baker Street, London Underground, St James Park and lots more.
We were also lucky to see the England cricket team celebrate their World Cup victory with a lap of honor around the Kensington Oval amid a sparse crowd. It was great to take a tour of the historic stadium, which was free for all visitors on that day.
On the last day of the trip, I went around the local Cardiff market to see the city center, souvenir shops, Indian and Pakistani stores and bakeries. Many local citizens and agencies were protesting against Climate Change in Cardiff on 16 July 2019. And yes, we spent some quiet time relaxing amid all the hustle and bustle too.
I have just shared this short video to give you guys an idea of the fun we had. If there's anything you want to know about travel to the UK, let me know in the comments section.
Some important learnings:
(1) UK is really one of the more expensive places to visit.
(2) July is the best time to visit UK, as rains are not as heavy as otherwise.
(3) There is a lot of natural beauty and man made sightseeings in UK, so a two-week trip should be worth the money spent.
(4) Extra warm clothes always help.

Bit of history...
Designed by architect Thomas Fulljames, building started in 1844 and completed in 1848. Once a hospital for people with psychiatric illnesses, at its maximum capacity it could house 200 patients, by the early 1900's it housed around 1,500 patients and staff.
Urban Exploring is not for kiddies. Abandoned places are dangerous. Adventures are fun.
