I finally took the drive on a Friday afternoon to hug this beautiful tree. It is noted to be the largest live oak tree in Florida. How large, you ask? So large that you can see it through satellite photos from Google Earth. I could just picture families having picnics in the cooler months. Friends throwing around a football or frisbee. I could see myself sitting on a blanket, holding a Mi Apa cafe con leche in one hand and a book in the other while Dexter naps beside me. It's most popular for having engagement, wedding and/or family photos.

Exploring History at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park (Part One)
Take a journey with me into the wilderness of San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park where you can experience some amazing old Florida scenery and history along the way. The area was once part of old ranches and homesteads in the early to mid 1900's. Thank you for watching and enjoy! This is a popular area for hiking, mountain biking, equestrians and has something for everyone. If you encounter some of this history please be respectful and leave everything as you see it.

San Felasco Park-Cottonmouth on Odd Buck Loop Trail.wmv
My friend Lance and I were on Odd Buck Loop at San Felasco Park in Alachua, Florida when we came across a cottonmouth (on my pedal downstroke no less)!! I warned Lance so he wouldn't get bit. Thankfully both of us were unharmed. I see deer out there all of the time, I hope I don't pass another one of these!!
