The village of Celuk, about 4 km southwest of the Sukawati District, is Bali’s major centre for goldsmiths and silversmiths. The village’s main road of Jalan Raya Celuk is lined up with galleries and workshops and is a common highlight on tour itineraries to the central and northern regions such as Ubud and Kintamani. It’s also a link in Bali’s Batubulan-Mas-Sukawati-Ubud so-called ‘golden pentacle’ of artisans and craftsmen.
The gold and silver items crafted here are high quality and feature unique and elaborate designs – the craftsmen are known for their skills and industriousness. Almost all of the households in the village are homes to jeweller families. Celuk smiths possess artistic skills in developing and executing intricate designs and varying patterns.

Masyarakat Bali percaya bahwa terdapat roh Ratu Gede Mecaling, dan kaki tangannya penguasa alam gaib di Lautan Selatan Bali yang beristana di Pura Dalem Ped, Nusa Penida. Saat itu, seorang pendeta sakti menyarankan masyarakat untuk membuat patung yang mirip Ratu Gede Mecaling, yang sosoknya tinggi besar, hitam dan bertaring, lalu mengaraknya keliling desa. Rupanya, tipuan ini manjur. Para mahluk halus ketakutan melihat bentuk tiruan bos mereka, lalu menyingkir. Hingga kini, di banyak desa, secara berkala masyarakat mengarak Barong Landung untuk menangkal bencana.
Konon, barong Ket atau barong Keket dibuat untuk mengelabui mahluk-mahluk halus yang menebar bencana.
Barong Ket adalah tari Barong yang paling banyak terdapat di Bali dan paling sering dipentaskan. Barong ini juga memiliki pebendaharaan gerak tari yang paling lengkap. Dari wujudnya, Barong Ket merupakan perpaduan bentuk antara singa, macan,sapi dan naga. Badan Barong Ket dihiasi dengan kulit berukiran rumit dan ratusan kaca cermin berukuran kecil. Kaca-kaca cermin itu bagai permata dan tampak berkilauan ketika tertimpa cahaya. Bulu Barong Ket terbuat dari kombinasi perasok (serat daun tanaman sejenis pandan) dan ijuk. Ada pula yang mengganti ijuk dengan bulu burung gagak.
Barong Ket ditarikan oleh dua orang penari yang disebut Juru Saluk atau Juru Bapang. Juru Bapang pertama menarikan bagian kepala, Juru Bapang yang lainnya di bagian ekor. Biasanya Barong Ket ditarikan berpasangan dengan Rangda, yaitu sosok seram yang melambangkan adharma (keburukan). Barong Ket sendiri dalam tarian tersebut melambangkan dharma (kebajikan). Pasangan Barong Ket dan Rangda melambangkan pertempuran abadi andara dua hal yang berlawanan (rwa bhineda) di semesta raya ini. Tari Barong Ket diiringi dengan gamelan Semar Pagulingan. Adegan lucu diselipkan psda tarian barong ini, supaya ada variasi , tidak dalam suasana tegang terus.

Balinese traditional painting
was restricted to ceremony aspect such as religious part, calendar and leather puppet (balinese: wayang). This periode was before 1920 and called as Kamasan orWayang Style. Wayang itself is two dimentional drawing that characterized an hindu-buddhism epic such as Mahabarata and Ramayana. The paintings were used on temple or palace as ornament. They ilustrated many stories about religion and bali life. Ussually it is a pieces of paintings that tell a stories. The name of kamasan style itself was take from the village name where it originated. The material used in kamasan style is also traditional material from mineral and vegetables or plant resources. Also they use white bone, soot, or stone. Bamboo used as tool to painting and the media ( canvas ) ussually traditional canvas from wood, tree leaf, or cloth. In 1920, there are western artist visited bali. This has change the rule on balinese art painting. An introduce of new canvas from western material, inks and paint, has change the style into modern art painting. The year has start a new way of balinese modern art painting. More artists come to bali has influence traditional style that was restricted to ceremony aspect.
Batuan village wasn't influenced by the western as they were in Ubud. The Batuan paintings were often dark, crowded representations of either legendary scenes or themes from daily life, freakish animal monsters, and witches accosted people. The Batuan Village paintings were gradations of black to white ink washes laid over most of the surface, so as to create an atmosphere of darkness and gloom. In the later years, the designs covered the entire space, which often contributed to the crowded nature of these Balinese paintings.

Di Desa Adat Batuan terdapat sebuah pura yang bernama Pura Puseh, pura ini yang sangat indah dan artistik. Pura yang berdiri megah di sisi utara Desa Batuan terletak di Banjar Tengah, Desa Batuan, Kecamatan Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar, Povinsi Bali. Pura Puseh Desa Batuan selain memiliki energy spiritual yang tinggi, ternyata juga melalui perjalanan sejarah yang sangat panjang. Termasuk di dalam pura terdapat peninggalan purbakala yang berasal dari masa prasejarah. Datangnya pengaruh budaya Hindu ke Bali menjadikan batu-batu alam yang ada di pura ini sebagai tempat pemujaan, baik kepada nenek moyang maupun memuja kepada Dewa dalam Agama Hindu.

Peninggalan bangunan kuno tersebut masih lestari sampai sekarang, dan memiliki latar belakang sejarah yang berumur hampir mencapai seribu tahun sehingga mempunyai nilai artistik tinggi. Getaran aura spiritual sangat terasa bagi orang-orang yang menekuni dunia tersebut, hal ini menjadikan Pura Puseh sebagai salah satu Pura spesial bagi wisatawan, dan menjadi objek wisata yang diminati serta sering di kunjungi dalam agenda tour dan wisata di Bali.
