- Los mayas suelen pedir permiso para entrar en estos lugares sagrados Cuida de mi, que yo cuidaré tu casa.

Located on the 'Cenote strip' just a bit south of Puerto Adventurous on highway 307 sits this very sweet Cenote. A bit of a drive down the winding, somewhat rough road, you come to the 'Garden of Eden ' cenote. Crystal clear, mainly fresh water, it was a treat to swim in, well protected from the wind and warmer than the ocean in January. Truly an underwater playground, it had tons of nooks and crannies for fish to hide in and for us to explore and it was also a major diving spot entrance for exploring the underwater river system that leads to the sea. Plenty of places tucked away to share some quiet time with someone special. And of course there is the popular cliff for jumping from. We arrived shortly after noon and had our choice of the many palapas ringing the cenote but that changed quickly. This is a must visit again place and at 60 pesos ( less than $5 cdn) it was a great deal.

Gefilmt mit der Sony FDR-X 3000.
El Eden, auch bekannt unter dem Namen “Ponderosa”, liegt 3km südlich von Puerto Aventuras. Der Freiwasserbereich der Cenote ähnelt einem weitläufigen Bergsee, das flache Wasser ist kristallklar, der Grund bedeckt mit Geröllbrocken, die von Moos und Algen bewachsen sind. Die Grottentour selbst ist weitläufig und offen mit viel Lichteinfall, da ein Großteil des Tauchgangs den Taucher entlang der benachbarten Cenote Coral Garden führt. Hier erzeugen die einfallenden Sonnenstrahlen an schönen Tagen beeindruckende Lichtspiele. Auch hier existiert eine Sprungschicht (Halocline), die Süß- und Salzwasser voneinander trennt.
