BIKEast / Randwick Council - Walking and cycling improvements: Kingsford to Centennial Park
BIKEast encourage the community to express their positive support for this project -
Randwick City Council is committed to providing safe and healthy transport options to improve our streets and make them easier to walk and cycle along.
They are planning some improvement works to provide better walking and cycling connections to Centennial Park, local shops, schools and the new light rail stops along Anzac Parade.
The project includes:
• safer pedestrian crossings
• new trees and plants
• separated, bi-directional cycleway
• enhanced streetscape
• improved lighting
• traffic calming
Feedback has now closed (June 2018). The next stage is that the report from consultation is going through Council on Tue 28 Aug 2018. BIKEast encourage everyone to write to the Randwick Councillors to show the community support for this project.

We are hoping that council will pass this with a majority vote and proceed to the next stage of Detailed Design and Construction. Thank you.

Centennial Parklands is the name given to a group of three urban parklands located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Comprising about 360 hectares (890 acres), the lands encompass Centennial Park, Moore Park and Queen's Park. The Parklands are listed on the New South Wales Heritage Register, with various components of national, state or local heritage significance. The parks are contained within the local government areas of City of Randwick, Waverley Municipal Council, and City of Sydney.[1]
The parklands are managed by the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust, trading as the Botanic Gardens and Centennial Parklands. The Trust is administered by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. The Parklands were added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 27 March 2000.

Centennial Park is a large public, urban park that occupies 220 hectares in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia.[1] Centennial Park is located 4 kilometres south-east of the Sydney central business district, in the City of Randwick.[2] The Park forms part of the larger Centennial Parklands.
Centennial Park is also a small residential suburb, on the western fringe of the parkland, which is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney.

A hill that 7745 riders have ridden up. Not a big hill at all, but certainly one of the most popular ones in Sydney. At least for now I have the fastest ever registered climb on this hill.

A beautiful Autumn morning cycling through one of Sydney's most scenic (and busy) parks, just a few kilometres from Sydney's CBD.
Most cyclists will generally follow the 3.8km Grand Drive loop (around and around...), but in this video I have tried to get onto all of the other roads that run through the park as well.
