Interurban North Trail - King County, WA
The Interurban North Trail bicycling and walking trail in King County, WA.
Length: ~32 miles
Connects: Seattle to Everett via Shorline, Lynnwood, Martha Lake, Mountlake Terrace, and Edmonds.
Despite it not being an off-street path through most of Seattle, I started in the city core because Denny and Dexter is the first sign for the trail that I know of.
Follow the signs north for 32 miles to Everett Station, where you can hop on Sound Transit 512 back to downtown Seattle.
On a personal note, this is one of my least favorite King County trails. It's poorly marked for much of the length, has places that spit you out in a narrow bike lane on wide roads and sometimes on to sidewalks, and most of the scenery and surroundings are either soul-crushing suburbia or I-5.

Safety first. It may be a cliché expression, but it’s tried and true advice that carries a lot of weight. Especially when deciding where to put down roots. When it comes to your home and family, there is no substitute for feeling safe. But where to begin? There are so many cities and towns in the U.S., it’s difficult to choose a place that is both safe and desirable. Don’t fret; there are plenty of viable options from the east coast, to the mid-west, and especially the west coast (California scored three separate times on our list!). Check out all the cities that made the ranking for the safest places to live in the U.S.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written
language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through

SUMMARY
=======
The Philippine–American War (also referred to as the Filipino-American War, the Philippine War, the Philippine Insurrection, the Tagalog Insurgency; Filipino: Digmaang Pilipino-Amerikano; Spanish: Guerra Filipino-Estadounidense) was an armed conflict between the First Philippine Republic and the United States that lasted from February 4, 1899, to July 2, 1902. While Filipino nationalists viewed the conflict as a continuation of the struggle for independence that began in 1896 with the Philippine Revolution, the U.S. government regarded it as an insurrection. The conflict arose when the First Philippine Republic objected to the terms of the Treaty of Paris under which the United States took possession of the Philippines from Spain, ending the short Spanish–American War.Fighting erupted between forces of the United States and those of the Philippine Republic on February 4, 1899, in what became known as the Second Battle of Manila. On June 2, 1899, the First Philippine Republic officially declared war against the United States. The war officially ended on July 2, 1902, with a victory for the United States. However, some Philippine groups—led by veterans of the Katipunan, a Philippine revolutionary society—continued to battle the American forces for several more years. Among those leaders was General Macario Sakay, a veteran Katipunan member who assumed the presidency of the proclaimed Tagalog Republic, formed in 1902 after the capture of President Emilio Aguinaldo. Other groups, including the Moro and Pulahan peoples, continued hostilities in remote areas and islands, until their final defeat at the Battle of Bud Bagsak on June 15, 1913.The war resulted in the deaths of at least 200,000 Filipino civilians, mostly due to famine and disease. Some estimates for total civilian dead reach up to a million. The war, and especially the following occupation by the U.S., changed the culture of the islands, leading to the disestablishment of the Catholic Church in the Philippines as a state religion, and the introduction of English to the islands as the primary language of government, education, business, industry, and, in future decades, among upper-class families and educated individuals.
In 1902, the United States Congress passed the Philippine Organic Act, which provided for the creation of the Philippine Assembly, with members to be elected by Filipino males. (Women did not have suffrage in the US or the Philippines.) This act was superseded by the 1916 Philippine Autonomy Act, which contained the first formal and official declaration of the United States government's commitment to eventually grant independence to the Philippines. The 1934 Philippine Independence Act created the Commonwealth of the Philippines the following year, a limited form of independence, and established a process ending in Philippine independence (originally scheduled for 1944, but interrupted and delayed by World War II). The United States granted independence in 1946, following World War II and the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, through the Treaty of Manila concluded between the two governments and nations.
