Hi Guys! I am back with another video of our Tohoku travels! This time I am sharing 2 days around Lake Towada.
Lake Towada (十和田湖, Towadako) is part of the Towada-Hachimantai National Park and is the largest caldera lake on Honshu, Japan's main island. Located on the border between Akita and Aomori Prefectures, the area is well known for its autumn colors especially around the Oirase Stream.
This place is so “peaceful” ???? but really it is such a beautiful place to visit.
It was an amazing trip. Felt so calm and relaxed while staying here. We have also seen multiple camping spots around the lake so you can give that a go as well.

Japan Air To Ground Drone Films | Visited my second home in Aomori Prefecture Japan and spent the end of 2019 holiday season. Aomori Prefecture is home of the Hakkoda Mountain range, Lake Towada, and the famous Oirase Gorge where the Oirase Keryu (stream) flows 15 KM through the Gorge with many amazing waterfalls and one of Japans last remaining indigenous hardwood forests. Great place to film the Fall colors , hike, camp, photo, Kayak, and backpack.

Towada Japan Tourism. Towada (十和田市 Towada-shi?) is a city located in central Aomori Prefecture, in the Tōhoku region of northern Japan. As of September 2015, the city had an estimated population of 63,340 and a population density of 87.3 persons per km². The total area was 725.65 square kilometres (280.18 sq mi).

Japan Off The Beaten Path is a new series on my channel, where I show you more of the unknown areas/prefectures in Japan and encourage you to travel and visit areas other than the common places such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
In this first episode, we visit and explore around Akita Prefecture in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu, the main island of Japan.
I came here during Autumn(end of October), which is the perfect time to come to see the autumn foliage!

As for transportation, it takes 4 hours to get from Tokyo station to Akita station via the Akita Komachi Bullet Train.
It costs around ¥17,000($160 USD) however if you have the JR pass you just have to pay the small fee of the reserved seat on the Shinkansen(all seats are reserved).
Or if you are going up to Hokkaido or coming back down from Hokkaido, you can change at the Shin-Aomori station and take the local JR train down to Odate station.
Going back to Tokyo from Shin-Aomori station is also possible by taking the Hayabusa bullet train. (Around ¥17,000)
Even though Akita is in Japan, each prefecture is so unique in it's own way - I learned so much from this trip and could see a different side of Japan.. I hope to share this kind of Japan more and more with you through my channel :)

Zuihoden - Miyagi - 瑞鳳殿 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in near the city of Sendai in Miyagi prefecture, Zuihoden is a mausoleum for Date Masamune, one of the most powerful feudal lords of the Edo Period. He was one of the first in a long line of Date lords to rule over Sendai from Aoba Castle which has been transformed into a magnificent park. Date Masamune and his son Date Tadamune have both found their resting place in Zuihoden, where the Date Masamune mausoleum is the centerpiece of Zuihoden.
Following the Momoyama Period style, Zuihode mausoleums are designed with rich intricate woodwork features and vivid colors.

Happo-En Garden - Tokyo - 八芳園 - 4K Ultra HD
Happo-en is far from your average gorgeous hidden Japanese garden in central Tokyo. While its history still eludes me, it is said that Happo-en was the cherished mansion of Ōkubo Tadataka throughout his life 1560~1639 (also known as Ōkubo Hikozaemon). It is however after 1951 that Happo-en became what it is today and took its current name. Many people incorrectly translate this name to “a garden beautiful from any angle” while in fact the most accurate translation is “Garden of Eight Views”.
Now what’s different about Happo-en is that this garden is just the visible tip of the iceberg, while in fact the core business of the location is to celebrate weddings and others events with a wide selection of facilities made to please those people looking for something more traditional.
You can rest assured that you do not need to participate in a wedding nor any other kind of special event to visit this park, indeed the park is open all year long and with free access to anyone. If you are curious about Japanese culture and need either to enjoy a traditional Japanese tea ceremony or you’re looking for a traditional Japanese lunch in a unique environment, be sure to contact one of the Happo-en staff to make a reservation!

Happo-en se distingue des autres jardins magnifiques cachés dans le centre de Tokyo. Son histoire racconte qu’il s’agissait du manoir le plus précieux d’Okubo Tadataka (1560~1639), aussi connu sous le nom d’Okubo Hikozaemon. Ce n’est cependant qu’en 1951 que Happo-en est devenu tel qu’il est aujourd’hui, et sous ce nom. D’ailleurs, beaucoup de gens traduisent ce nom à tort tel que “Jardin beau sous tous ses angles” alors que le terme exact serait “Jardin des huit vues”.
Or ce qui rend Happo-en unique est que son jardin n’est que la partie visible de l’iceberg. En effet, l’intérêt (et le business) réel de cet endroit est de proposer un large choix d’installations pour célébrer des noces, ou tout autre événement qu’un client souhaiterait célébrer de manière plus traditionnelle qu’ailleurs.
Soyez rassurés, vous n’aurez nul besoin de participer à des noces pour visiter ce parc ! Le parc est bel et bien ouvert à tous tout au long de l’année, et à titre gratuit. Si vous avez envie de découvrir la culture japonaise et souhaitez expérimenter la cérémonie du thé ou avoir un repas traditionnel dans un environement unique, prenez le soin de reserver !

【HD】Karasawa Kar 'Cirque' (Fall & Autumn Colors) | 涸沢カール (秋，紅葉)
Karasawa Kar (Cirque), at 2,300m elevation, is the central region of Kamikōchi also known as a famous site for autumn leaves. In the fall, many mountain climbers visit from across the nation. Thanks to the fine weather, the coloring for autumn leaves in the year of 2010 was spectacular.
標高2,300mの涸沢カールは上高地の中心地で紅葉の名所としても有名。秋には全国から多くの登山者が訪れる場所です。2010年の涸沢カールの紅葉は天気にも恵まれ、色づきが良かったということです。
