Rail Road Puts Winter Garden on the MAP!
Returned to Winter Garden recently after living there over 30-years ago, and boy did it look different! What was once a sleepy southern citrus community, is now a vibrant community! I could have spent longer roaming around, bit the clock said we needed to be elsewhere. Winter Garden, I will return again!

Central Florida Roadtrip: Winter Garden
The Season 2 premiere of Central Florida Road Trip pays a visit to West Orange County and the city of Winter Garden. In the 1920s the fishing on Lake Apopka helped turn the city into a tourist hotbed. We’ll tell you what Winter Garden invention helped transform the farming industry as well as how the refurbished Edgewater Hotel, the Garden Theater and the West Orange Trail helped revive the city.

Clinchfield 800 Leaving Orlando, Part 1
Clinchfield 800's tenure in central Florida has come to a close, and she will now head north to meet up with former Chesapeake & Ohio 2-8-4 Berkshire steam locomotive number 2716 in Kentucky. I caught the 800 leading a Florida Central Railroad freight south into CSX's Taft Yard, where she will be interchanged with CSX for her journey north, likely on CSX manifest freight train O741. Notice that 800's horn valve seems to be a bit stuck...love the sound of that classic Leslie RS5T!
See part 2 of this video, with a surprise ending, here:

Vintage Motive Power on Freight - Florida Central
Let's take a trip to the past with an EMD GP30 built for the L&N in the early 1960's and a Clinchfield F7 built in the late 1940's lugging some loaded steel cars in the sunshine state.
Seeing this kind of power in freight service is rare, but seeing it on a modern mainline is a treat to witness. Here we chase L&N 1030 and Clinchfield 800 up the Florida Central with over 20 loaded steel flat cars from Orlando to Eustis. The two 567 equipped motors pull hard to get the tonnage over the line, and performed spectacularly. The sound of roaring EMD 2-stroke engines and a Leslie RS-5TRRO horn wakes up central Florida on a hot day in September.
L&N 1030 and Clinchfield 800 are both locomotives originating from the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum located out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Both of these locomotives can be seen pulling excursions for the Orlando & Northwestern Railway with trips departing Mount Dora and Tavares. L&N 1030 was the common freight power on the old line from Oak Ridge to Blair and pulled many excursions of the Secret City Scenic and provided the air for the Oak Ridge Horn Honk. Clinchfield 800 was restored to its as-delivered livery by CSX Transportation in Huntington, West Virginia and was featured in the lead of the 2017 Santa Train down the Clinchfield Railroad.
Enjoy!

Traditionally, banks and other financial institutions sell their own products. However, competitive mortgage have made the role of the mortgage broker more popular. In well developed mortgage markets, mortgage brokers are the largest sellers of mortgage financial products for lenders. A mortgage broker acts as an conduit who brokers or helps clients qualify for mortgage loan products on behalf of individuals or businesses.
The role of the Mortgage functions to find a bank or a direct lender that an individual seeks with a specific loan product that the individual is seeking.
Mortgage Brokers in the United States are regulated to ensure compliance with banking and or finance laws in the jurisdiction of the consumer through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
The major difference between a mortgage broker and a loan officer is that a mortgage broker works as an intermediary between the buyer and the lender, whereas the loan officer typically works directly for the lender.

Day at Winter Park, Florida
Day at Winter Park, Florida. September 13, 2018.
Winter Park is a city near Orlando, Florida. The population was 27,852 at the 2010 United States Census. Winter Park was founded as a resort community by northern business magnates in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its main street includes civic buildings, retail, art galleries, a private liberal arts college (Rollins College), museums, a park, a train station, a golf course country club, a historic cemetery, and a beach and boat launch. The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art showcases glass art by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Overlooking Lake Osceola, the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens displays works by the notable Czech-American artist. By Lake Virginia, Cornell Fine Arts Museum shows antiquities and contemporary works.
Lazy boat rides, craft cocktails and a diverse range of galleries are abundant in this manicured town of eight square miles, which manages to make even the Amtrak train seem quaint, stopping as it does in the middle of the town's mini-Central Park.

Florida Railroad Museum: January 19, 2019
Right before heading back to Tennessee, a stop was made at the Florida Railroad Museum in the small town of Parrish, about an hour drive south of Tampa. The museum operates over six miles of track originally laid down in 1903 as the Florida West Indies Railroad & Steamship Company. The railroad initially was built to primarily connect the cities of Tampa & Venice via Bradenton & Sarasota.
The railroad was abandoned in 1980 by the Seaboard Coast Line, and was eventually purchased by Florida Power & Light, who now leases it to the Florida Railroad Museum.
In this video, we take a trip over the museum's track between Parrish and the ghost town of Willow, both on board the coaches and in the cab of the two locomotives, ex. US Army GP7L No. 1835 and GE 44 Ton No. 100.
