Central Gardens -Merrylands
Central gardens in Merrylands has one of the largest free
display of Australian wildlife, you'll see kangaroos,
wallabies, emu, kookaburra,tawny frogmouth, black swan,
corella, major mitchell cockatoo and other parrots and
finches. There are plenty of shadded areas, barbeques,
tables, toilets and a bubbler. There are two playgrounds
one in the middle and one located at the front of the
park. The lakes is quite big, full of bird life, follow
the track and boardwalk around the park and see
waterfalls and streams. We came in spring and the kids
loved the ducklings, Noisy Miner Chick, and even the
nesting water bird incubating its egg in the middle of
the park.All this is free.

The Central Gardens Nature Reserve, also called Central Gardens, is a protected nature reserve located in the western suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1976, the 12-hectare (30-acre) reserve, garden and fauna and wildlife park is situated in the suburb of Merrylands and is managed by Cumberland Council. The park is regionally important and it attracts visitors outside the Cumberland LGA area. The bushland contains remnants of Cumberland Plain Woodland and is approximately 3.5 hectares in area.

Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds Port Jackson and extends about 70 km (43.5 mi) on its periphery towards the Blue Mountains to the west, Hawkesbury to the north, and Macarthur to the south.
