Tuntutan Mengungkap Misteri Kematian Rojit (The Murder of Papuan Activists is Questioned)

Robert Jitmau (Rojit), aktivis sosial ekonomi Papua dan pejuang pembangunan Pasar permanen bagi Mama-mama Papua di tengah Kota Jayapura, meninggal karena ditabrak sebuah mobil pada 20 Mei 2016 di Pantai Hamadi Jayapura. Polisi langsung mengumumkan kasus ini sebagai Kecelakaan Lalulintas murni satu hari setelah kejadian, sebelum pemeriksaan para saksi. Proses di pengadilan pun dilakukan tanpa menghadirkan semua saksi, dan tanpa mempertimbangkan bukti-bukti visum. Mama-mama Pasar dan jaringan kelompok peduli menuntut pengadilan yang transparan demi mengungkap motif dan jaringan pelaku di balik kematian Robert.
Robert Jitmau (Rojit), a vigorous defender of social economic rights of Papuans was hit by a car on May 20, 2016 in Hamadi Beach, Jayapura, West Papua. He had fought along with Papuan women for the construction of a market for Papuan women in the city center. The Indonesian police c.q Jayapura police immediately announced that he died in an accident without proper investigation processes, even before witnesses testified. The court proceeding that followed did not even involve the witnesses and largely ignored the forensic/medical examination. Papuan women and other members of Papuan society demand that a proper investigation is being done and those who are responsible for his murder are brought to court.
