BAHIA DE HUATULCO
In 1984, a beach tourism development was created by
FONATUR with a very important focus on ecology, trying to
improve what has been done up to that moment in Cancun
and Ixtapa: Huatulco Bays. The destination is located on
the shores of the Pacific Ocean, in the Sierra Madre del
Sur, within the traditional and tourist state of Oaxaca, 277
kilometers by land from the state capital and 763
kilometers from the capital of the country, reachable in
just 50 minutes by air. This destination is composed of nine
bays: San Agustín, Chachacual, Cacaluta,
Maguey, Órgano, Santa Cruz, Chahué, Tangolunda and
Conejos. Within these nine bays there are 36 beaches of
great beauty, with sands and crystal clear waters, mostly
calm waves and waters in shades of bluish green, most of
them protected in a natural way and practically isolated
from the world by about 21 thousand hectares of lush
vegetation. It is important to mention that the nine bays of
which the destination is composed, are under the
protection of the Huatulco National Park.

En 1984, un desarrollo turistico de playa fue creado por
FONATUR con un enfoque muy importante en la ecología, tratando de
Mejorar lo que se ha hecho hasta ese momento en Cancún
y Ixtapa: Bahías de Huatulco. El destino se encuentra en
las orillas del Océano Pacífico, en la Sierra Madre del
Sur, dentro del estado tradicional y turístico de Oaxaca, 277.
kilómetros por tierra desde la capital del estado y 763
kilómetros de la capital del país, alcanzables en tan solo 50 minutos en avión. Este destino está compuesto por nueve
bahías: San Agustín, Chachacual, Cacaluta,
Maguey, Órgano, Santa Cruz, Chahué, Tangolunda y
Conejos. Dentro de estas nueve bahías hay 36 playas de
Gran belleza, con arenas y aguas cristalinas, en su mayoría
olas tranquilas y aguas en tonos de verde azulado. De de forma natural son protejidas y prácticamente aislados.

Video realizado en un tour con Huatulco Expediciones hace 4 años. El canyonig es un deporte mezcla de actividades extremas. Sortear los obstáculos de un río en una caminata de 3 hrs. donde tendrás que saltar al agua de diferentes alturas, subir por paredes escalando y bajando haciendo rappel, además de nadar en aguas en movimiento (río), es uno de los tours mas exigentes en Huatulco! Snorkeling in Playa Riscalillo, Huatulco, Mexico

A 5 hour snorkeling trip that was about 400 pesos each. We stopped at Playa Riscalillo to snorkel and the water was super clear. We have been to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta and this is by far our favorite place to snorkel. Please comment below if you think the water was super clear, and any recomendations to travel to next.
