Τα Βότσαλα ή Χαλίκια βρίσκονται 79χλμ νότια των Χανίων και είναι η δεύτερη παραλία μέσα στην κωμόπολη της Παλαιόχωρας, μαζί με την αμμουδερή παραλία της Παχειάς Άμμου. Βρίσκεται ανατολικά του παραλιακού δρόμου της πόλης, στο σημείο που εκβάλει ο Κακοδικιανός ποταμός, και εκτείνεται σε μήκος 1χλμ προς τα ανατολικά. Η παραλία έχει χοντρό βότσαλο και παρέχει όλες τις βασικές ανέσεις, καθώς βρίσκεται σε απόσταση αναπνοής από την πόλη.
