How to blend Champagne with Mailly Grand Cru Champagne
Only 17 of Champagne’s 319 villages currently enjoy Grand Cru status. Mailly Grand Cru is the only Champagne House to source all of its wines from Grand Cru vineyards. What’s more, the Champagne house is a co-operative, meaning the growers of the village own the Champagne house and share in all the profits.

CHAMPAGNE

Windfall Fruit, Freshness, Creamy Mousse
Wine with a quite deep colour, medium towards deep golden. Still with intense, but quite fine bubbles. Intense nose here, spicy, with sweet spices; like clove, saffron, cardamom, then with butter, almond, and ripe yellow fruit. Good gripe on the palate; obviously a Champagne with a more full body style, with high level of ripeness. It does not have oxidation, but the fruit is really ripe; like windfall, ripe pear, nutty and almond notes. Acidity is quite well integrated today, it offers a lot of freshness, but it is nicely rounded off. So is the creaminess and the mousse. It is really harmonious on the palate, in I would say quite full body, vinous, small grower style. I feel more Pinot in terms of the fruitiness, but it is probably a classic blend. However with preponderance of Pinot Noir with that ripe fruitiness, good depth, with a certain complexity and quite a long finish.
