Chaozhou/潮州 - Day 2 - Ramble Round Southern Guangdong
Chaozhou is a famous historical and cultural city in China. As a Classic Tourist City there are numerous places such as TaiPing Rd (太平路), Guangji Bridge (广济桥), Kaiyuan Temple (開元寺) West Lake (Xi Hu, 西湖), Ming city wall (明城墻). Chaozhou is also famous for its Teochew cuisine/Chaozhou cuisine (潮州菜) influenced by both, Fujian and Cantonese cuisine.
And today you will see a bit of that! Stay tuned for more videos about ChaoShan/潮汕, which refers to ChaoZhou/潮州 and Shantou/汕头 (Chao/潮 + Shan/汕 = ChaoShan), two cities who developing into a single metropolis.

2017汕頭礐石風景區,是南國奇石多而聞名遐邇的風景勝地，與汕頭市隔海相望。而宏偉壯觀的天壇花園，恰似鑲嵌在礐石風景區的一顆璀璨明珠。備受中外遊人所矚目。天壇花園位於礐石山東麓，依山傍海，海角自然風光旖旎。這裡有山澗曲徑林蔭，花香鳥語鳴囀之悅耳，無鬧市車水馬龍之喧嘩;有海角天涯發人幽思的景色。白花尖大廟、寶塔、九天禪院、龍船舫、思親堂，堪稱自然風景與人工巧築奇合的佳構，典雅堂皇廟殿。被冠為粵東第一塔之九天玄女寶塔，高聳入雲。所塑神佛，神人共襄,披澤南天。遊人可登塔眺望汕頭現代景觀，宛若海市蜃樓之幻現。白花尖大廟位於礐石風景區東麓海濱，其單體面積居全省之冠的大廟——白花尖大廟，也稱九天娘娘廟，1993年10月落成時，有 海內外人士多達五萬之眾參加了開光大典，盛況空前，此後成為汕頭旅遊熱點。大廟主神九天聖母娘娘，又名“九天玄女”，傳說為上古女神，人頭鳥身，是聖母元君弟子、黃帝之師，輔助黃帝戰勝蚩尤安定天下而得敕封為女神。
大廟門前廣闊的石板埕，寬40米、深40米。中間裝飾石刻雙龍奪寶 ，還配有雕刻各種龍的白石欄杆，是從江西井岡山運來的石料刻制，莊重雅觀。加之各種花卉盆景，使廣埕別有一番風景。大埕正中，設立“天地父 母”亭，鑄聯雲：“天恩普施世民沾霖露，地靈人傑安樂升 平”。亭後置一對 鐵鑄大香爐。即接近大門之埕置有一對雕藝精湛的大石 獅，兩個寶鼎，兩株高聳的木棉樹，還有一口泉水充沛的“青蛙泉” 古井。大廟門樓，立有4枝盤龍大柱，南、北牆各有一幅高2.6米，寬8.75 米的大型泥塑浮雕壁畫。北有《女媧補天》，大廟左、右門匾刻“驪山聖母 ”、“天后聖母”，門聯木刻：“九天廣恩四海直同天， 對母渡世眾生施雨露”。大廟門六幅彩繪文武大將尉遲恭、程咬金、魏征、 徐茂公、謝映登驅邪的油畫，給遊客以威嚴之感。
汕頭蒂蒂香達濠魚丸店以魚丸、魚餃及魚麵為主，全部都用新鮮九棍魚手打而成，魚鮮味分外濃郁。店主每天早上才用豬骨熬製湯底，甜而不膩，突出各款魚肉手製品的味道。其中原粒魚丸單靠九棍魚打起黏度及甜鮮味，因此手打時間最長，打起膠後還會用人手逐粒逐粒唧成丸狀，基本上是全人手製成。在汕頭只賣每碗十元,但同樣的一碗在香港要賣上四十元才有利錢。

陈慈黉故居的建筑点缀艺术/The Decorative Elements of Chen Cihong's Former Residence

陈慈黉故居位于澄海市隆都镇前美村，始建于清朝宣统二年（1876年），历时近半个世纪，集陈家几代人的心血。计有郎中第、寿康里、善居室、三庐等宅第。占地2.54万平方米，建筑面积1．68万平方米，共有厅房506间。其中最具代表性的善居室始建于1922年，至1939年日本攻陷汕头时尚未完工，占地6861平方米，计有大小厅房202间，是所有宅第中规模最大，设计最精，保存最为完整的一座。
该宅是旅泰著名华侨实业家、金融家陈慈黉及其家族在家乡兴建的大规模民居建筑群体，以潮汕民居的四进驷马拖车为主体，是典型的近现代民居建筑，堪称岭南第一侨宅。
陈家早年经营海外运输，后在泰国办实业，富甲一方。一贯热心公益事业，办学校、修道路，闻名国内外。其家族自1910年起，陆续用了几十年的时间，在本乡建筑了郎中第、善居室、寿康里和三庐等四大宅第，共有厅堂506间，占地面积2.54万平方米，规模宏大。
陈慈黉故居建筑风格中西合璧，总格局以传统的驷马拖车糅合西式洋楼，点缀亭台楼阁，通廊天桥，萦回曲折，进之如入迷宫，乐而忘返.
About 25 km from Shantou City, Chen Cihong's Former Residence is situated in Qianmei Village (前美村) in Chenghai District (澄海市). The residence covers an area of approximately 25,400 square meters (6 acres). It is one of the most well known tourist attractions in Shantou City.
Chen Cihong (1843-1921) was a prominent overseas Chinese businessman and navigator. As a local saying goes, there is no other man richer than Chen Cihong in Chaozhou and Shantou. He was highly respected as he had contributed generously towards improving public welfare by building schools, bridges and roads in his hometown.
Consisting of 506 halls and rooms, the residence comprises four parts, Lang Zhong Di(郎中第), Shou Kang Li(寿康里), Shan Ju Shi(善居室) and San Lu(三庐). Shan Ju Shi is the largest and most representative of the four sectors. It holds a total number of 202 halls and rooms, and it is the best preserved. This house combines the Eastern and Western architectural styles. It features traditional Chinese corridors and arch structures together with Western-styled balconies and large windows. It is said that this house was constructed under the supervision of the wife of Chen Litong, the fourth son of Cheng Cihong. The main room is done in Western style. The wing rooms are constructed in the style of ancient imperial palaces.
