The Wildlife Protection Society of India reported that 20 elephants were killed in 2007.& In 2013, the tally on the Chapramari track, specifically, reached 17 including those killed by the 13 November accident.A large variety of flora and fauna are found in the forests. Chapramari is known for its elephant population. Gaur (commonly known as Indian bison) are not uncommon in the Chapramari region. Rhinoceros, Deer, boars, and leopards are also found there. The place is popular with bird watchers, with parakeets, kingfishers, and green pigeons found in abundance.This forest based 7 km railway track is most important as all the time there may be possibilities of moving train and animals collision ,Need to be implement proper policy for safety of wild animal there.

Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the immediate vicinity of Gorumara Natinal Park. There are two wonderful accommodations inside the sanctuary- Chapramari FRH and Chapramari Wilderness Camp, Panjhora. From the balcony of the FRH and also from the adjacent Watch Tower one can witness the magical forest and the wildlife amidst Nature's bounty.

Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary is close to the Gorumara National Park. Chapramari is about 30 kilometres from Chalsa and Lataguri in northern West Bengal, India. The total coverage of the forest is 960 hectares.
A large variety of flora and fauna are found in the forests. Chapramari is known for its elephant population. Gaur (commonly known as Indian bison) are not uncommon in the Chapramari region. Deer, boars, and leopards are also found there. However like Gorumara Royal Bengal Tiger are not found here. The place is popular with bird watchers, with parakeets, kingfishers, and green pigeons found in abundance.
At approximately 17:40 on 13 November 2013, an Assam-bound passenger train travelling through Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary, Jaipur-Kamakhya Kavi Guru Express (19709), approached the Jaldhaka River Bridge at approximately 80 km/h (50 mph) and collided with a herd of 40–50 Indian elephants, killing five adults, two calves, and injuring ten others. Surviving elephants initially fled but soon returned to the scene of the accident and remained there until being dispersed by officials.

4. Samsing - Samsing is known for Tea Gardens. Yes, this whole area of Samsing consists of beautiful picture-perfect tea gardens in Dooars region. There are two tourist spots in Samsing and they are Rocky Island and Laliguras View Point. On the banks of Murti River, Samsing is situated in Darjeeling-Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal.
5. Suntaley Khola - A small village near Samsing. Suntalekhola / Santalikhola / Suntalikhola is becoming a tourist spot for Hanging Bridge over Suntaley River (Khola).

North Bengal Wild Animals Park (Bengal Safari) in Siliguri provides a rewarding experience about the wildlife of the region to the visitors.
The State of West Bengal with a variety of forest types is very rich in terms of Wildlife. North Bengal flood plains harbor wild animals like Tiger, Common Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Himalayan Black Bear, Sloth Bear, Gaur, Sambar, Barking Deer, Spotted Deer, Hog Deer, Wild Boar, Rhesus Monkey, Common Languor, different types of small Cats and Civets, Crocodile, Gharail , Jungle Fowls and a large number of terrestrial and water Birds.

North Bengal Wild Animals Park, Siliguri is spread in an area of 297 hectares. The Park is developed in its natural habitat of Sal & its associated species. The Park shall be having 4 nos. large safaris i.e. Mixed Herbivore Safari (91 ha), Tiger Safari (20 ha). The visitors shall be taken to these safaris in specially designed vehicles.
The lesser cats, fresh water crocodile, gharial and representatives birds of North Bengal shall be displayed in appropriately designed large enclosures.
Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal laid the foundation stone of the North Bengal Wild Animals Park, Siliguri on 17th July, 2014. Section of the Park with Mixed Herbivore Safari, Red Jungle Fowl enclosure and jungle Cat enclosure is ready for opening to the public. Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal dedicated the North Bengal Wild Animals Park, Siliguri to the nation in January 2016.

Chapramari is off National Highway 31 from Khunia More on the way to Jaldapara. It can also be approached from the metre gauge railway stations to Chalsa or Nagrakata. As you cross river Tista on your way into Dooars, you reach the famous Chapramari sanctuary. A huge variety of flora and fauna covers the forests. Chapramari is famous for its elephant population. There is the Chapramari Forest Bungalow for accommodation.
Permission to stay at rest house may be obtained from Divisional Forest Officer, Aranya Bhawan, Jalpaiguri.
