The Province House National Historic Site hosted the Charlottetown Conference of 1864, spurring the country’s birth. Victoria Row has shops, restaurants and the Confederation Centre of the Arts, with its musical based on “Anne of Green Gables.”

Sunset in the Charlottetown harbour is worth the visit, let alone the local food in town. We had some of the best mussels we have ever had as Sims Corner Steakhouse. The oysters were also fantastic with the live music across the street.
If you visit PEI, a stop in Charlottetown is a must. Don't forget Cows Ice Cream.

July 5, 2017 - On my first night in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, I get my bearings by exploring the downtown core of this delightfully small city on this beautiful little island province.
I see sights such as City Hall, Victoria Park, Charlottetown Harbour, mighty oak trees, the cruise port, the Harbour Hippo, Peake's Quay, Queen Street, Victoria Row, and the main shopping district downtown, plus the spires of St. Dunstan's Basilica Cathedral and, of course, Province House, the birthplace of confederation of my home and native land.

It's time for us to get off the Norwegian Gem and explore Charlottetown Prince Edward Island! If you love to shop, then you have come to the right place! LOL! As you'll see, there are a lot of shops right at the cruise terminal! After some shopping, it's time to make our way to our tour bus! I did not book this tour through Norwegian Cruise Line but instead, I used the app, Shipmate. This is my second time booking a tour through the app and I again, was satisfied. First XR Arrest in Canada - March 11, 2019, Charlottetown, PEI
The environmental movement Extinction Rebellion had its first arrest in Canada when Daphnée Azoulay and David Woodbury attended the Charlottetown City Council meeting to ask the city to declare climate emergency.
Daphnée was unaware of the existence of the rail and it's meaning, and was arrested when she passively resisted leaving without her banner.

Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island and its largest city. Located on the southern shore of the island, its harbor hosts most of the cruise ships that visit the island. The harbor walk features a marina with colorful ships and a number of restaurants. Eden Hall B&B provided us with comfortable and convenient lodgings. The southwestern part of the island features a distinctive red soil that also gives the coastal water a reddish tint. The so-called Green Gables Shore is on the north side of the island, opposite Charlottetown. This rustic, beautiful area was the setting and inspiration for Anne of Green Gables.
