3D Vineyard of Chateau Lagrange in Saint-Julien, Medoc
Totally on the Saint-Julien appellation, the vineyard, in one piece, spanning two original gravel mounds Günziennes oriented north-south. Sometimes thin and sometimes coarser, these serious are accompanied by either sand or ferruginous clay. With an altitude of 24 meters, the area of the center is the culmination of Saint-Julien. On a total area of 157 hectares of the property, 118 hectares are planted with vines and the majority of land is drained.

Présentation en 3D du vignoble de Château Beychevelle à Saint-Julien dans le Médoc. Son vin, selon moi, s'affiche clairement comme un vin du Sud de l'appellation (au même titre que Branaire-Ducru, Ducru-Beaucaillou) à travers son style fin et élégant, contrairement à Léoville Las Cases ou Barton au Nord (davantage en race et en puissance).
Château Beychevelle, c'est 2 plateaux principaux complétés par quelques ilots ; mais également des bois (notamment les peupliers jouant le rôle de pompes à eau aux abords des jalles et des pallus).
Mais ce qui fait la qualité de Beychevelle, c'est avant ses sols et sous-sols : Peyrosols et Brunisols, des terroirs très drainant et à forte capacité à se réchauffer rapidement.

Ripe Sweet Fruit, Vanilla Finish, Red Currant
Youthful red wine here, with a bright quite deep ruby-red colour. Fine nose, it starts out quite discreetly here, with notes of wild berries, a hint of leather, cassis, discreet wood. I like the texture here, we have quite juicy rounded fruit, with notes of red currant and plum. Discreet spiciness here, nothing green but rather mild spices like clove and vanilla. Well-integrated wood. Well-preserved acidity, giving that ripe sweet fruit a good lift. Tannins are grainy and fine so there’s no hardness here, we have a long and clear finish. I would say a very nice expression in a classic, rather elegant style. Fine drinkability, good persistence here, with those clear red fruity flavours lingering, just a hint of wood and vanilla on the finish. Drink it today, keep it 10 years, but good drinkability today according to me.

Les vins du château Lagrange - Bordeaux - Millésima
Millésima présente château Lagrange:
Troisième cru classé dans le classement impérial de 1855, le château Lagrange jouit d'une longue histoire commencée dès 1796 lorsque le Comte de l'Empire et ministre des Finances de Napoléon 1er, Jean Valère Cabarrus, l'acheta et l'agrandit. De ces nombreuses acquisitions, un vaste domaine viticole pouvait enfin naître pour compter aujourd'hui 117 hectares, faisant de Lagrange le plus vaste domaine viticole en cru classé du Médoc.
En 1983, la propriété est acquise par le leader japonais des boissons et spiritueux, le groupe Suntory permettant au château d'être rénové jusque dans l'outil de travail, le vignoble comme le cuvier et les chais. Cette politique qualitative engagée par les nouveaux propriétaires - sous l'oeil avisé de Marcel Ducasse - permet depuis les années 80 d'exprimer au mieux la personnalité, par la sélection parcellaire, de ce grand terroir de graves. Aujourd'hui, c'est Bruno Eynard, Directeur Général du cru, qui préside aux destinées de cette très belle marque. Le résultat est un vin brillant par son élégance, sa finesse, sa générosité aromatique et une belle tenue dans le temps pour satisfaire les amateurs de vins de garde.
