Dark Berry, Roasted Coffee, Vanilla
Red wine with a medium, towards well rather, dark ruby-red. Quite elegant nose here. I would talk about the classic style, with some toasted wood, roasted coffee, dark berries, cassis, some leather; but with a very good purity of fruit and it seems a high level of ripeness. Good density and weight here. It is really ample fruit with those dark-berry flavours; cassis, dark plum and some chocolate. The oak is noticeable on the palate, but I really talk about fine wood here, adding a touch of that roasted coffee, vanilla. Already with that finely grained tannins, contributing to the freshness and the length. Elegant and stylish - classic style. Really persistent, on the finish, very good length. Still youthful, but already quite delicious, if I may say so, but definitely a wine that will continue to develop for many, many years.

Ripe Fruit, Red Currant, Cedar Wood
Red wine with a medium towards deep ruby-red colour; offering some slightly, lighter colour at the rim. Quite intense and forward nose; showing some roasted aromas of roasted coffee, hint of wood, tobacco and dark berries. Palate is quite medium weight, I would say, classic medium weight, with a dense core of ripe fruit, such as red currant and dark berries, underlined by that really fine wood; with a roasted coffee, cedar wood. It has a tannic presence, but quite polished. Nicely persistent on the after taste. Good length there, persistent, in a rather classic style without too much concentrations, but it certainly has good potential for further development. Quite a stylish wine.

Chateau Redortier Offering
Your health tip for the day, the surgeon general is now recommending 3-5 glasses of wine per day! Hey- I know that may sound like a lot to some of you but if you weigh 200 pounds and had 1-2 glasses of wine for lunch and then 2-3 glasses of wine with dinner there is your 3-5 glasses. Remember that during WW2 when the Germans occupied France the French workers requested 2 liters of wine per day in order for them to properly perform their duties. That is over 2 bottles per person per day! Today the economy is not in great shape so if you are going to drink wine every day you need to find some good values and one of the best areas for value in the world is the southern Rhone and more particular Cotes du Rhone. I can offer an incredible array of wines that carry the Cotes du Rhone title and cost under $15 per bottle!
The appellation Cotes Du Rhone represents wines produced in the Rhone Valley between Vienne, south of Lyon, and Avignon, a distance of 120 miles. The finest of these are sold under more specific names: Cote Rotie, Condrieu, Chateau Grillet, St. Joseph, Hermitge, and Coronas in the north and Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Chateauneuf du Pape, Lirac and Tavel to the south. Over the last few years the Rhone Valley has become known as one of the leading sources of outstanding quality wines at reasonable prices. One of the best selling wines in the store in the $10 price range over the last few years has been Cotes Du Rhone.
