On Friday September 17, 2010, with a trumpet flourish and a ceremonial ribbon cutting, representatives of all three levels of government, the Chatham Capitol Theatre Association, community donors, volunteers and citizens flipped the switch that lights up the grand marquee of the totally restored and improved theatre on King Street. Donors and other citizens had gathered on King Street to take part in the ceremony, and free tours were offered after the event.
