CHATUCHAK WEEKEND MARKET (Cheap shopping in Bangkok + Haul)
On our last day in Bangkok, Thailand, we decided to check out the Chatuchak weekend market since it's also Martin's first time to experience one. If you're into cheap shopping, Chatuchak weekend market of Bangkok, Thailand is the best for you but be aware that it is really hot in the afternoon so maybe it's better to go sometime around 4-5pm. It opens at 10 AM and we went on a Sunday and bring cash with you because they won't accept credit cards :) In Chatuchak, you'll see a lot of things from food, souvenirs, bags, accessories, clothes, Thai products, you name it, there's most likely one for you! We even got a Thai massage after a day full of walking! Please bring water when you go there because the crowd can get a bit overwhelming plus the heat can get you nauseated so make sure to stay hydrated!

Chatuchak weekend market is one of the biggest shopping markets in Bangkok. Jatujak or Chatuchak is a must visit for every tourist. Whether you want to enjoy shopping or street food in Bangkok, this one is a must visit. To get to Chatuchak, head to Mo Chit Station via Bangkok BTS and then follow the signs to Chatuchak market. Here are the timings:

Chatuchak Weekend Market is the largest market in Bangkok.
It is said that the number of stores exceeds 15,000.
There are various shops such as T-shirts, Asian-style clothes and accessories, Thai restaurants and BAR.
There is also a Pet Zone. Until now, travelers were sometimes unable to get there because of the difficult way to go.

Today my local Thai friend gives us a food & shopping tour of Chatuchak Weekend Market (also known as: JJ Market). And yes, they are only open during the weekend! After multiple rounds of indulging in Thai street food, we head over to Asiatique and try freshly-pressed Octopus Crackers. The hissing sounds like a hundred octopuses proclaiming revenge. We finish the evening with more Thai food.

If you're wondering what to do in Bangkok you can't go wrong with spending a day wandering around Chatuchak Market! By far the biggest market in Thailand and in our opinion the best. Home to over 8000 stalls and 200,000 visitors every weekend this place has everything, clothes, handicrafts, ceramics, food, you name it!
We're actually not huge fans of markets but Chatuchak really impressed us, everything seemed really well made and there were lots of really unique things you couldn't buy elsewhere in the world!

Vintage Shopping at Chatuchak Weekend Market Bangkok - Day 8 (Video #25)
Our second visit to Chatuchak Market (because who can go only once?) we barely left the vintage section after discovering it late the day before - we promised ourselves to go back first thing in the morning when we were less tired. It did NOT disappoint.

I found vintage high waist Levis shorts for 180baht ($8NZD, $5.50USD) and a couple of genuine American t-shirts. Jal found some potentially very real Rick Owens Dunks and a ridiculous stack of high quality Uniqlo linen shirts, of which he only bought three for space-saving reasons.
Other things of note were about a million pairs of real Birkenstocks and Doc Martens, some very authentic-looking if not the real deal Kimonos and robes, flapper-era sequinned dresses and costuming, and basketball tanks.
