Funiculaire de Chaumont - Neuchâtel, Suisse
Riding up on the funiculaire from La Coudre (alt 517 m) to Chaumont (alt 1087 m), a total distance of 2102 metres and a rise in elevation of 570 metres. This funiculaire was opened in 1910. Just beside the Chaumont station is the 60 m high observation tower (built in 1912) which on clear days allows spectacular views to the lakes of Neuchâtel, Morat, and Bienne.
Here is a link to more information about this observation tower:
For some reason which I do not understand, when one is uploading a video to YouTube, there is no longer a Video Location option. So if I want to viewers where I made the video, I am obligated to to find the location(s) on Google Maps and then state them here. So here goes: The station in La Coudre is at 47.008656 N Latitude and 6.960944 E Longitude and the terminus at the top in Chaumont is at 47.026649 N Latitude and 6.957526 E Longitude. The thumbnail shows the approach to the Chaumont terminus.

Wonderful sledding day between Chaumont and la Coudre, Neuchâtel (Switzerland). After a couple of days of heavy snowfall, conditions were perfect for sledding and the scenery was bewitching.

Sea of Fog above Neuchâtel, Switzerland
This video was taken in late December 2017 at Chaumont, above Neuchâtel, #Switzerland. I did have to take a funicular railway to go up this little mountain (1178 meters high), which is well known for its sea of fog view in winter. In summer you have a beautiful panorama too from the Chaumont Tour (built in 1912), which appears several times in the video, and you can see the Neuchâtel, Bienne and Morat lakes below. And of course a way better panorama with a drone. I was lucky that day because the fog kept flowing up and down which brought me unexpected images. One minute it was above me and the next below. It was strange to land with the drone through the fog while not seeing much of what was below. I took about one hour of video that day with my DJI Phantom 4 Pro, and selected the best parts to build this 5:28 min video (with many accelerated sequences) and I'm quite proud of the result...

Panorama from Chaumont, Neuchâtel
Close to the funiculaire station in Chaumont there is an observation tower from which one has an unobscured view of the three lakes, Bienne to the left, Neuchâtel in the foreground, and a little bit of Morat further to the east, and then further off, a view of the Alps that can extend as far as Mont Blanc. This particular day, the weather was not co-operating, so there were no Alps to be seen. Along the near side of Lac Neuchâtel, one can see all the way from La Tène to the Pointe du Grain.

One Swiss franc gets you through a turnstile and onto a ramp leading to the tower. You can stay up there longer than I did in this video. From the tower one has an unobstructed view of three lakes, Bienne, Neuchâtel, and Morat, and in the distance, the Alps.
