หาดเชาว์ต่า Chaung Thar อยู่ทิศตะวันตก ติดอ่าวเบงกอล จากย่างกุ้งใช้เวลาเดินทางประมาณ 5 ชั่วโมง ผ่านเมืองปะเต็งและข้ามเนินเขาเล็กๆ ก็จะได้พบกับหมู่บ้านชาวประมงเชาว์ต่า ตั้งอยู่ปากแม่น้ำ หาดทรายขาวยาวหลายกิโลเมตร ชาวพม่านิยมมาท่องเที่ยวเล่นน้ำในช่วงวันหยุดยาว จนล้นหาด ที่พักต่างถูกจับจองเต็มหมด รถยนต์ รถบัส พานักท่องเที่ยวมาจากทุกสารทิศ มีขี่ม้า เรือลากกล้วย เช่าจักรยานถีบ คล้ายหาดบางแสนของไทยในอดีต

Chaung Tha Beach in Myanmar, or Burma, is a weekend getaway beach for young Burmese from the capital Yangon. They come here to relax and play – particularly play. The beach is covered with water toys, bicycles, horses and other fun things for rent. This is not a beach for those looking for tranquillity. But the most popular activity on Chang Tha beach is one every age can enjoy.... eating and drinking. People seek shelter from the sun under these umbrellas, and small kitchens at the top of the beach cook and serve local dishes on the sand. It's cheap, and the seafood is truly fresh....and sometimes it's so fresh its still alive. Lots of food hawkers also patrol the beach, offering a whole variety of seafood and other snacks.
