Chaweng Walking Street Food Court Koh Samui Thailand
This is the Chaweng Walking Street Food Court on Koh Samui Thailand.
It is different to the main Walking Street Good Market on Chaweng Beach Road but this is situated about 1 km south of it along the same road.
The Koh Samui food Market opens every day. Some places are open for lunch but at night time the place comes alive.
There are Thai Food Stalls, Seafood Stalls, Indian Food stalls and even some kebab, pizza and hamburger stalls.
The Koh Samui Food Center also has a few bars where you can buy some drinks, beers and cocktails.
The food and drinks here are cheaper than on Chaweng Beach Road and there is so much variety in the one place.
The next time you are on Koh Samui in Thailand, make sure you come the Chaweng Walking Street Food Court

I told staff that I felt the door lock is not secured for me and my room is quite lonely area. I'm a girl and solo traveler.

The good, the bad and the ugly:
Good things:
- Great beachfront area, very clean and more importantly very quiet
- 2 nice swimming pools
- Excellent central location, very close to main shopping mall and Soi Green Mango bar area
- Nice big restaurants right on the beach with good views
- Guest friendly, no extra charges for bringing back a lady
The bad
- Not much privacy for some ground floor rooms with people walking past your room daily
- No fitness center, but this seems standard for most hotels in Chaweng
- Be aware planes fly overhead from around 6am to 10pm, but this is standard for central Chaweng.
- Rooms were rough around the edges, and showing a lack of maintenance (this is reflected in many online reviews too)
The Ugly:
- My noisy aircon unit in the first room decided to stop working and I had to switch rooms, not ideal...
Overall: I really liked the Al's Resort beachfront and it was my favourite of all the hotels in Chaweng. It was so nice to sip a cold beer and relax on the beach in the daytime.
I recommend Al's Resort for seasoned travellers and don't spend a lot of time in the room. I was definitely not a place for people who are used to modern hotel rooms.
It was just a shame that the rooms were so average and rough around the edges. If they could do a renovation this place could be right up there...
