Morning cheetah run at CCF Namibia
To ensure CCF non-releasable cheetahs get the exercise that they need , CCF runs them regularly using a mechanical lure system. It’s very important for their physical and mental health.

Ep 7 - Namibia Part 2 of 4: Mehdy versus Cheetahs, who will win!
Part 2 of 4: Mehdy takes a road trip to the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in the town of Otjiwarongo, to learn about the fastest land animal on the planet. He then challenges a few of these demons of speed to a race, which may not be a good idea.

Kitties at the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia
25 miles down a dirt road outside of Otjawarongo, Namibia, lies the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Here is a close up video of some of the female cheetahs getting delicious meaty treats.
Youtube can't set the map location in Namibia properly so if you look at the map, it's far off. Proper GPS coords for locating the Foundation in Google Earth are: 20°29'0.77S, 17° 1'50.66E
Namibia 2016 - A visit to the Africat Foundation (Okonjima)
If you are ever journeying through central Northern Namibia an hour and a half visit to the AfriCat Foundation based in the bush near to Otjiwarongo is well worth the time.
Set in the Okonjima Game Reserve at AfriCat we were shown round by one of the centre’s animal carers providing us with a detailed explanation of the work the centre do to rescue, save and rehabilitate cheetahs and leopards. We were able to meet an ‘ambassador’ leopard named Lewa who had been rescued as a very young kitten and been hand-reared. Sadly, she could never be released as she was too habituated to humans! We had a mini game-drive through a huge enclosure containing cheetahs waiting to be reintroduced into game reserves. We were able to see the huge effort the charity makes in educating Namibia’s youngsters so that they grow up to see these cats as a vital resource and not as a nuisance.
It was heartening to see the massive effort being made by AfriCat Foundation to help others to understand the behaviour of leopards and cheetahs and to educate farmers and the like to see the value in keeping these species alive and well.

Cheetah Conservation Fund - Video Learning - WizScience.com
Founded in 1990, the Cheetah Conservation Fund has as its mission to be the world’s resource charged with protecting the cheetahs and ultimately ensuring its future on our planet. CCF will work with all stakeholders within the cheetah’s ecosystem to develop best practices in research, education and ecology and create a sustainable model from which all other species, including people, will benefit.
The CCF is based in Namibia, the country with the largest and healthiest population of cheetahs left in the world. Its Research and Education Centre is located 44 km. east of Otjiwarongo.
The non-profit organization has developed a diverse range of programs to scientifically study cheetah physiology, its behavior, habitat, prey species and human and wildlife conflict issues. The results of these scientific studies are disseminated internationally via publications and presentations, and the ever-expanding scientific database is utilized to develop strategic education and conservation programs.
Both within Namibia and worldwide there is now far greater awareness of the value of the cheetah within the ecosystem, and its endangered status. Encouragingly, increasing numbers of Namibian farmers are implementing predator-friendly livestock management techniques.
CCF's conservation and educational efforts are supported by on-going research used to develop policies and programs to sustain the cheetah population in Namibia and as a model for cheetah conservation programs in other countries such as Botswana, Kenya, South Africa, Algeria and Iran.
