Above the clouds. Dark tribal ~ Taroko. Datong tribes tribute
Datong and Dali are two indigenous areas within Taroko National Park. They were home to Truku people who are currently scattered in many parts of Hualien. There are about a handful of households remaining here, most of them live in Datong. People who stay here still conduct the way they used to live. Their ancestors first settled here for the fertile plain among surrounding mountains, and prospered in population until Japanese Occupation. Many of them left reluctantly due to the policy imposed by local government for the easier management. However, some of them chose to return with their beloved families and conduct very simple life with farming and hunting.
As Datong and Dali are located in over 900 meters in altitude and are only reachable by foot, the inconvenience causes shortage of electricity, infrastructure and daily supplements. Because of this, Datong and Dali still remain its rural and primitive appearance without being over developed.

[TT Taiwan] No.1 LP FH penholder in Evergreen Team Cup 2013
TW No.1 LP FH Mr. Chen ShiChun, uses black-side LP rubber on Forehand.
You can see many FH LP skills in this match (Zhou XinTong style),
FH loop, FH flick, Side-cut return, chop block, side swipe(rare), it is believed Mr. Chen uses similar set up as Zhou XT, when serving he would use red side (inverted or SP), possibly FH LP has 0.6mm sponge
(Note:)
(at 0:24) usually the kneel down Tomahawk server is very effective for Mr. Chen, notice he uses red side to serve penhold tomahawk.
(at 2:16) Mr Chen's famous double attack, push, chop block, then LP loop attack wide right, attack wide left, (the ball sinks down and heavy at the opponent's side)

Everyone is polite, Every family has filial piety-The Second Cross-Strait Cultural Exchange崇仁新聞
Filial piety is the cornerstone of Chinese culture. A loving relationship between parent and child is the core of all healthy relationships.
The Chinese Filial Piety Culture Promotion Association held a concert at the Great Hall of Xiamen on September 27, 2014 as a cross-strait cultural exchange to encourage the universal practice of filial piety. There were more than 90 government officials from Taiwan, Beijing, and Fujian in attendance.
There were performances put on by the Chong De choir from Taiwan, the Jinmen University Chong De youth Club, the Xiamen City Opera Center, the Little Egret Folk Dance Art Center, and Xiamen City’s Little Flying Heron Art Center.
During the program, the performance content focused on Chinese traditional culture, filial reverence, and literacy promotion. About 1500 concert goers came to learn more about filial piety through the modern arts.
The program started with a performance by students from Xiamen and Fujian Classical Chinese Recitation programs. As they recited the Bai Xiao Sutra and other classical literature, it felt as if time was transcended and DaTong had arrived on the Earth.
The secretary of the Association for Cross-Strait Relations, General Liu Chang Yang said, “This is a moment for the purification of the heart through the power of the soul.”He even greeted friends and relatives from Taiwan faithfully. In his talk, he quoted the words from the General secretary Xi Jinping, Excellent traditional culture is the fundamental part of a national heritage and development of a country. If we lose it, it would sever the lifeline of a country. In this way, he affirmed the practice of these cultural exchange activities.
The chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Filial Piety Han Wan Nian said that we can see fruits of the classical literature programs already. For a child to develop the right personality, he or she must have the right family life. We must use the wisdom of our ancestors – that has been inscribed in this literature – in order to make the world a better place.
The Chong Ren Choir – which was founded by the compassionate and merciful Miss Chen HongZhen – performed more than ten different songs, each of a unique style and theme. They even performed a Taiwanese folk song for the Xiamen audience. Members of the Jinmen University Chong De Youth Club joined the performance acting out scenes to demonstrate the importance of Filial Piety, with a touching photo of a baby goat kneeling in front of its mother in the background.
Pipa Prince Huang Jun Hao performed two wonderful solos: “The Sound of Rain” and “South of the Chang Jiang River.”The Xiamen Opera Center performed the Sung and Yuan Dynasty classic, the ballad of Lu Wenlong – who broke his arm taking a thief as his dad. Young dancers from the Little Flying Heron Art Center performed two songs: “The Inch of Grass”and“Blooming Flowers and a Full Moon”. The Little Egret Folk Dance Art Center entertained the audience with a funny dance, showing the various gestures of a father .

Lin Benyuan's Garden , 1936 , Oil on canvas (English)
Lin Benyuan's Garden , 1936 , Oil on canvas , 45.5 X 38cm
From the layout and the design of this garden, we know it is an imitation from a residence of high official in the Qing Dynasty. In terms of coloring and brush stroke, this is a painting done soon after Chen came back from Shanghai. The reason why Chen didn't go abroad to study in Europe is because of two reasons. One is the economical reason; the other is because his director suggests that mainland china suited him much better than Europe in terms of the creative style and personality. Therefore, he decided to go to mainland China to research into how to get Shui-Mo skill involved into his oil-painting. In this painting, he had already got two of those painting skills blended with each other. The curve line and the color of the roof were both presented in the way they were presented in Chinese Shui-Mo painting and the same was true with the tree in this picture. Lin Benyuan's Garden is what we now call Lin Family Garden in Ben-Qiao, an island wide famous historical relic. It's a classical architecture in Qing Dynasty. The Chinese painting style was presented overwhelmingly in this picture; the pyramid-shaped triangle sketching method was adopted to stabilize the composition of the picture. The white wall in front was a build of ceramic tile of different patterns; the wall reveals the elegance of the noble. In the middle of the tower was the scenic spot where people gathered together and performed. The tallest building was located in the right hand front side of the garden, the other buildings were normal housings or workshops. The tune of the whole picture goes like a kind of luster coming off from an elegant antique porcelain, much more noble and ancient than the building itself.
Ban-Qiao Lin Famiy Garden, Wu-Feng Lin family Garden and Lu-Gang Gu Family Garden were the three biggest gardens during the Japanese-Occupied Period. Among them, Ban-Qiao Lin Famiy Garden was the biggest one. The Lin Family was the richest one in northern Taiwan. The construction of the whole garden started in 1847. There were 52 rooms in it. The total area of it took up almost half of Ban-Qiao downtown at that time. Now it is designated as a national historical relic. The Ban-Qiao Night Market at the cross-section between Na-ya East Rd and Xin-xing Rd is the most famous night market in New Taipei city.

Taipei (; Hokkien POJ: Tâi-pak), officially known as Taipei City, is the capital and a special municipality of the Republic of China. Sitting at the northern tip of the island, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City that sits about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city Keelung. Most of the city is located in the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed. The basin is bounded by the relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border. The city proper is home to an estimated population of 2,704,810 (2015), forming the core part of the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area, which includes the nearby cities of New Taipei and Keelung with a population of 7,047,559, the 40th most-populous urban area in the world—roughly one-third of Taiwanese citizens live in the metro district. The name Taipei can refer either to the whole metropolitan area or the city proper.
Taipei is the political, economic, educational, and cultural center of the Republic of China and one of the major hubs in East Asia. Considered to be a global city and rated as an Alpha City by GaWC, Taipei is part of a major high-tech industrial area. Railways, high-speed rail, highways, airports, and bus lines connect Taipei with all parts of the island. The city is served by two airports – Taipei Songshan and Taiwan Taoyuan. Taipei is home to various world-famous architectural or cultural landmarks, which include Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Dalongdong Baoan Temple, Hsing Tian Kong, Lungshan Temple of Manka, National Palace Museum, Presidential Office Building, Taipei Guest House, Ximending, and several night markets dispersed throughout the city. Natural features such as Maokong, Yangmingshan, and hot springs are also well known to international visitors.
In English-language news reports the name Taipei often serves as a synecdoche referring to Taiwan's national government. Due to the ambiguous political status of Taiwan internationally, the term Chinese Taipei is also sometimes pressed into service as a synonym for the entire country, as when Taiwan's government representatives participate in international organizations or Taiwan's athletes participate in international sporting events.
