20170511 1900 LZR GSL, Mongolia - Great Chenrezig Initiation
In his second teaching in the monastery of Ganden Do Ngag Shedrup Ling in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Lama Zopa Rinpoche emphasizes how important it is to preserve the culture in Mongolia, especially Buddhism, as there are many old geshes who have knowledge that is soon going to be lost. Young people admire Western thinking and many convert to Christianity because they do not have the background of Buddhist reasoning. Rinpoche emphasizes that we have incredibly good karma to believe in Buddhism, as other religions do not allow one to stop the causes to be reborn in the lower realms, and they do not have teachings on emptiness, renunciation, and bodhichitta. Rinpoche advises the people who know Buddhism in Mongolia, especially the monks, to explain Buddhism using simple words, and not explain it for the purpose of showing off their knowledge, but only to make the person understand.
Rinpoche continues to emphasize that the motivation for the upcoming Chenrezig initiation has to be to benefit all sentient beings and goes on to explain that even enemies are included and that they benefit us by allowing us to practice patience..Then Rinpoche explained the benefit of the practice of Chenrezig emphasizing the huge amount of merit created and the purification you can achieve by reciting OM MANI PADME HUNG.

His Holiness Dalai Lama visit to TBI Adelaide Australia Thursday 20th june 2013
The Great Dalai Lama (Star Child ?)
The Dalai Lama is considered to be the successor in a line of tulkus who are believedto be incarnations ofAvalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, called Chenrezig in Tibetan. The name is a combination of the Mongolicword dalai meaning ocean (coming from Mongolian title Dalaiyin qan or Dalaiin khan, translated as 'Gyatso' in Tibetan) and theTibetan word བླ་མ་ (bla-ma) meaning guru, teacher, mentor. The Tibetan word lama corresponds to the better known Sanskritword guru.

Train Xi'an to Lhasa - Part 1 of 6
Built quite literally on the roof of the world – at an average elevation around 4,500m above sea level – the Qinghai-Tibet railway represents the culmination of the long-held Chinese dream of connecting China to Tibet.
Running for over 1,956km from Xining, capital of China’s Qinghai province to Lhasa, through some of the planet’s harshest natural conditions, it is an impressive catalogue of world records. With its highest point at an altitude of 5,072m – 200m or more above the Peruvian railway in the Andes – Qinghai-Tibet easily takes the title as the world’s highest track and Tanggula Station, a mere 4m lower, the highest railway station.
It is also the longest plateau railway in the world. Some 550m of its tracks are on frozen earth, passing through both the world’s most elevated tunnel – Fenghuoshan Tunnel (4,905m) – and the longest plateau tunnel – Kunlun Mountain (1,686m) – to be built on frozen earth.
