Sokcho has very unique environment not like other cities. This city includes Seorak mountain, Yeongrang lake, Cheongcho lake and wide open East sea. Where Monutains, lakes and sea are placed at the same city brings a great scenery every-time.

Sokcho (Korean: 속초; (Korean pronunciation: [sok̚.tɕʰo])) is a city in Gangwon-do province, South Korea. It is located in the far northeast of Gangwon-do. The city is a major tourist hub, and a popular gateway to nearby Seoraksan national park. Sokcho is home to the few lakes: Yeongrangho and Cheongchoho that are naturally created by the East Sea.[1]
Sokcho originally was a part of Dongye from roughly 3rd-century BC to around early 5th-century. Sokcho started from just a fishing village with a few people around Cheongchoho. In 1905, it became one of the major ports because of its geological feature. Since Cheongchoho lake is adjacent to the East Sea, big ships were able to come in and out with ease. Later on, Sokcho, linked with Seoul by air and road, the city became a mineral transfer port in 1937. Upon the division of the Korean peninsula into two countries following World War II, Sokcho was on the North Korean side of the border, but since the Korean War armistice (1953), it has been a part of South Korea.[8]
Seoraksan National Park is located in the vicinity of Sokcho, and attracts many domestic and international tourists. The city itself if known for the beach, natural hot springs and golf courses, as well as its fine fishery products.
The nearby Yeongrangho lake is renowned for its beauty. The reflection of Seoraksan and its Ulsanbawi are particularly popular. There are a number of well-preserved Buddhist temples in the area around Sokcho. The main building of the Sinheungsa temple (Geukrakbojeon) is a major tourist destination (originally built in the 15th century). Also notable is the Hyangseongsaji samcheung seoktap, a three-storey pagoda of 4.3 metres. It dates from 652 and is located at the site of the Hyangseongsa temple.
Yeonggeumjeong, a pavilion built on the shores of Sokcho, is popular for its magnificent views of the sunrise, as well as for hearing the sound of the sea. It is thought that the pavilion was built at this location for sonic reasons.
Marina Yacht is located in Cheongchoho Lake Park and it provides a yacht tour on a wide expanse of the East Sea. The yacht sailing begins and ends at Cheongcho Marina passing Seorakdaegyo Bridge, Dongmyeonghang Port, Jodo in order. Marina Yacht rents boats to people who have a boat driving license. The place also operates a café.[10]
Yeongrangho Hwarangdo Experience Center is held various experience programs, horse riding members recruitment, and annual World Knight Championship. The center contributes to the transmission of traditional horseback martial art and popularization, and vitalization of horse riding.[11]
Abai village near Seoraksan was originally set up as an area to house North Korean refugees in Sokcho due to the separation of the two Koreas. Consequently, many of the population have relatives in North Korea. The village has seen increased tourism due to the popularity of the Korean Drama Autumn in My Heart on KBS
In July 2016, Sokcho became one of the few locations in South Korea where Pokémon Go could be played due to government restrictions on mapping data. Players flocked to the city, causing bus tickets to sell out.[12][13]
In 1999, Gangwon International Tourism Expo was held.[14]
Today, a number of tourists are also attracted by the closeness to the DMZ.
Sokcho used to have its own airport, linking the city to Seoul. Currently, the city is served by the Yangyang International Airport.
The opening of KTX Kyung Kang line has made it convenient for travelers to visit Gangwon-Do province which is only an 86-minute train ride that starts from Seoul and tons of attractions.[15]
Sockho’s traditional market is full of things to see, buy, and eat. Formed in 1953 as the Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market, it was included on the Korea Tourism Organization’s list of “Best Traditional Markets for Foreign Tourists” last year. From fresh fish caught off the coast in the East Sea to dried fish and various vegetables, you can find fun in just looking around and watching the fishmongers bargaining with local market goers.[16][17]
Sokcho is known for Hoe, which is a raw fish. The coastal waters provide good fishing grounds for Ojingeo, Myeongtae, Gwangeo, Godeungeo, etc... [18][19]
Sundubu can be found in the streets of the tofu towns such as Sinheung Sundubu and Haksapyeong Sundubu. Made from pure Seoraksan water and the East Sea water and it's chemical free.[20]
Sokcho offers a unique twist to Sundae (not the eponymous dessert) by using Ojingeo instead of pork intestines. The Ojingeo-sundae consists of squid stir-fry, made with noodles and blood sausage, with carrots, onions, seaweed and spices mixed together, covered with thin fried egg yolk.[21][22]

청초호수공원, 호수산책길, 속초 명소
속초에는 두개의 큰 호수가 있는데 하나는 영랑호수이고 또 하나는 청초호수 입니다. 영랑호가 자연을 잘 보존한 호수라면 청초호수는 주변으로 건물들과 공원이 잘 조성되어 있는 호수입니다. 큰 호수를 따라 산책길이 잘 만들어져 있으니 청초호수공원 바로 옆에 엑스포먹거리단지에서 식사를 하시고 가볍게 산책하기 아주 좋은 공원이며 공원안에 엑스포타워전망대가 있어 속초 전지역을 보시기도 좋은 장소입니다.

Sokcho has two big lakes, one is Yeongrang Lake and the other is Cheongcho Lake. While Yeongrang Lake is a lake that preserves nature, Cheongcho Lake is a lake with buildings and parks around it. The trail along the large lake is well-made, so you can enjoy a meal at the Expo Food Complex next to Cheongcho Lake Park and take a light walk. There is Expo Tower Observatory in the park, so you can see the entire Sokcho area.
영랑호수 산책길, 호수공원, 자전거도로, 속초 명소
속초에는 큰 호수가 2개있는데 하나는 청초호수이고 또 하나가 영랑호 입니다. 철저하게 자연그대로 잘 보존하려는 호수이고 현재 지난 산불로 일부 건물과 나무들이 타기는 했지만 아직도 기존의 아름다운 풍경은 거의 그대로 간직되어 있습니다. 큰 호수 따라 만들어진 산책로와 자전거길이 있으니 천천히 산책겸 걸아가시거나 자전거를 대여해서 한바퀴 돌아 보시는것도 좋습니다. 봄 가을로 더 이쁘니 꽃이 피는 시기에 맞춰 방문하시면 더 좋습니다.

Sokcho has two large lakes, one is Cheongcho Lake and the other is Yeongrang Lake. It's a lake that's going to preserve itself in its entirety, and although some buildings and trees have been burned down by the fires of the past, the existing beautiful scenery is still almost intact. There are trails and bike paths built along the big lake, so it's good to take a walk or rent a bike and go around. It's better to visit in time for the flowering season because it's more beautiful in spring and autumn.

식당 내부는 특별한건 없고 항상 정돈이 잘되있다는 느낌을 받습니다.
추가 양념으로는 고춧가루 소금 그리고 후추가 준비되어 있습니다.
황금해장국의 특징이라면 맛도 맛이지만 큼지막한 뼈고기가
적어도 세덩어리는 들어있을 정도로 푸짐한 양이 특징입니다.
들깨가루가 듬뿍 올려져있고 콩나물과 대파가 들어있습니다.
고기를 찍어 먹을 간장과 와사비가 준비되고
반찬으로는 콩나물무침 배추김치 오이김치 단무지무침
그리고 무김치가 나옵니다.
감자탕이 아니라 뼈해장국인데도 혼자 먹기 버거울 정도의
푸짐한 양의 뼈고기를 넣어줍니다.
국물은 약간 진득하면서 들기름향과 맛이 진합니다.
고기를 드시기 전에 간장에 와사비를 잘 풀어줍니다.
야들야들한 고기를 젓가락으로 잘 발라내시거나
손으로 뜯어 드셔도 됩니다.
잘 발라낸 고기를 양념장에 찍어 드시고
남은 뼈는 뼈통에 버리시면 됩니다.
고기를 다 드시고 나서 국물에 밥을 말아 드시면
감자탕도 먹고 진한 국밥도 먹는 두가지 만족을 느끼실 수 있습니다.

I will introduce a restaurant specializing in black goat's restaurant.
It's a very famous and traditional nutrition restaurant in Sokcho city.
Black goat dishes are one of the most delicious Korean foods.
It was a small, old restaurant, but it was just built again.
You can eat in a modern comfort environment.
Additional spices include perilla powder, pepper, salt, and vinegar.
You can add more seasoning if you want it.
I've been mixing it up myself, and when the soup comes out,

밥을 섞어 먹는 거라면 회국수는
회가 곁들여진 양념국수라고 보시면 됩니다.
속초에 회국수를 하는 식당이 몇군데 있지만
제가 이곳을 소개하는 이유는
혼자 한 그릇을 다 먹기 버거울 정도로
많은 양을 주는 식당이기 때문입니다.
화면을 보시면 아시겠지만 국수 반 회 반일
정도로 일반 횟집에서 소짜 회를
시키면 나올만한 양을 한그릇에 쏫아 부은듯한
많은 양을 내어 줍니다.
테이블 8개 정도의 매우 작은 식당이지만
바로 옆에 위치한 어선 선착장에서
일을 마치고 어부들이 단체로 많이 찾는
식당으로 점심시간에는 자리를 잡기
어려우나 1시 이후에 방문 하시면
매우 한가한 분위기에서 편안히
드실 수 있습니다.
5가지 정도의 기본 반찬에 맑은 멸치국이 나오고
이어서 큰 그릇에 한가득 담긴 회국수가 나옵니다.
그 양이 너무 많아 먹다 지치는 경우가 많습니다.
오늘도 결국 다 못먹고 나오고 말았습니다.

이마트 방향에서
출발하면 이마트에서 설악대교
방향으로 직진 하다가 대교 올라서기
바로 직전 삼거리에서 우측에 차가
오는지 확인하고 다리 바로 옆
비포장 길로 바로 들어가 100미터 정도
직진 하면 식당이 나오며
시외버스터미널 방향에서 간다면
대교를 건너자 마자 60km 과속카메라를
조심하고 곧바로 우측 주차장으로
들어가는 길로 들어가 호수 길에서
우회전 하고 직진하다가 어촌계복지회관이
보이면 다리 밑으로 우회전 합니다.
주차는 다리 아래나 식당 옆 비포장
공터를 이용 하기 바랍니다.
