The National Museum “Chernobyl” in Kiev is an educational center dedicated to the most known ecological tragedy in the world history - the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident. Three large exhibition halls demonstrate more than 7000 exhibit items, dedicated to the accident itself and to the period of the Elimination of the Accident Consequences. Museum also honors the residents of the Polesie Region, and praise ecological, political and social-cultural consequences of the disaster. The Chernobyl Museum is a must-see site for all those who are interested in the topic and who have already visited or are only going to visit the Exclusion Zone. It will take you 2-3 hours to examine the whole exhibition thoroughly.

Chornobyl Museum visit, 2016 March 29

The Ukrainian National Chornobyl Museum (Ukrainian: Український національний музей Чорнобиль) is a history museum in Kiev, Ukraine, dedicated to the 1986 Chernobyl disaster and its consequences. It houses an extensive collection of visual media, artifacts, scale models and other representational items designed to educate the public about many aspects of the disaster. Several exhibits depict the technical progression of the accident, and there are also many areas dedicated to the loss of life and cultural ramifications of the disaster.
Due to the nature of the subject material, the museum provides a very visually engaging experience.
Museum occupies an early 20th-century building which formerly housed a fire brigade and was donated in 1992 by the State Fire Protection Guard.

Chornobyl Museum Presents Exhibition Dedicated to 33rd Disaster Anniversary

Interactive installations, laser projections, and 3D mapping. These modern-day technologies connect visitors of the National Chornobyl Museum with the nuclear accident that took place 33 years ago.

Ukrainian National Museum CHORNOBYL +25 April 8 -- May 25, 2011

25 years ago on April 26, 1986, the lives of millions of people were forever changed by the explosion that took place in reactor #4 at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The radiation from this explosion carried all across Europe with the most contaminated areas being in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Over 400,000 people were evacuated from their homes, many of them never able to return. Today there are still over 5.5 million people who are living on land that is contaminated from this disaster. Countless individuals have sacrificed their health and even their lives to help clean up after the devastation. 25 years later they are still battling how to contain the tons of nuclear material that is still present at the Chornobyl nuclear site. There are still those who live in the town of Chornobyl. Exhibit Opens on Friday, April 8th at 7 pm and continues through May 25, 2011. This exhibit makes sure we never forget what happened at Chornobyl in 1986 and highlights the issues still facing those living in contaminated areas. The Ukrainian National Museum is located in the heart of the Ukrainian Village, at 2249 West Superior Street in Chicago.

The exhibition of “Chernobyl” museum located in Kiev is about the largest in the history of nuclear power accident – the accident at the fourth unit of Chernobyl nuclear power plant (Pripyat city) happened in April 1986.
The museum has the collection of about 7,000 exhibits – declassified documents, maps, photographs, objects of ethnic culture, personal belongings of people participated in liquidation of the disaster. The museum of Chernobyl was opened on April 26, 1992. It was dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the accident.
