Hiking to 3 Shires Head, Cheshire, UK with two dogs and a baby from Clough House car park
In this episode we will be hiking to 3 Shires Head, Cheshire, UK with two dogs and a baby. The hiking was relatively easy and not to strenuous but was fairly rocky underfoot and boggy in places with a fair amount of gradual climbing This is probably not suitable for anybody with mobility issues or pushchairs.
This walk is from Clough House car park in cheshire out to the 3 Shires Head where Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire meet. This walk is through from absolutely stunning landscapes icluding steady climbs, woodland, waterfalls, heathland, babbling brooks. winding rivers, gorges and with stunning views of peaks such as Shutlingsloe.
Heed the warnings in the guide that the route can be wet underfoot if there has been recent rain. Fortunately we wore walking shoes/boots as following a thunderstorm the night before the water was running down the paths and the few boggy areas were very soft under foot.
There are a few stiles and one ladder but most of the pathways are lined with good gateways. This is a well maintained pathways.
The 3 shires head itself is a perfect palce to stop and have a picnic and all along the route families were playing in the waterways on a very hot day.
Our two dogs were in their element and although kept on the lead were exhausted by the end of the walk. Bear in mind if you are taking dogs that they will probably havev to be carried down the ladder unless you are particularly tall and are able to lift them from a 6 foot high wall.

Walks in England: Exploring the Audlem Locks in Cheshire
Audlem is famous for its run of 15 locks on the Shropshire Union Canal. With its canalside pubs and attractive towpath, the walk alongside the locks is one of the finest in lowland England.
Harriet, Lola and I explore the locks from the tow path and give a potted history, including the cheese boat that used to journey on the canal every Saturday in the heyday!

A walk up Bosley Cloud ( The Cloud ) South Cheshire 23 March 2017. A lovely walk for all abilities
A chance opportunity to do a walk I've been meaning to for a long time. It is right on the border between Cheshire and Staffordshire and is a super way for everyone to spend a few hours. The parking was free but it does get busy. Terrific views on a lovely spring day. Thankyou to the internet for the lead picture as frankly my phone conked out as it was abit cold so I couldn't take one. Technology eh???!!! A walk through Lyme Park to the Bowstones. A great walk to the top of Cheshire with great views
An amazing walk that I only discovered about 5 years ago. It's a really well marked out path and you really can take all the family on it. Just don't rush. No need! However it's also a great training walk as you can use it all year as I did to get some legs if you're approaching a bigger target. But most of all it's great! I really hope you enjoy the film as like many I looked up at the place every day but never realised how amazing it was. The folks there do a brilliant job to keep the place the way it is so I have the privilege to go there. Well done to all. It's massively appreciated by many. They do now charge at Nelson Pit car park. If you enjoyed this please check out my UK walking films playlist

Dawny Brook Macclesfield Forest Cheshire UK
in 2002 my sister unblocked a brook that once babbled and made it babble again in Macclesfield Forest. The brook feeds a wonderful, wandering stream which meanders through Macclesfield Forest in Cheshire UK.
The brook had been blocked with leaves, twigs, earth etc and it took my sister, Dawn a couple of hours and a big stick to unclear it and let the water flood through, feeding the wonderful stream which still flows uninterrupted today.
The video is me behind the camera, with three dogs, Molly, Missy and Chester, taken on Thursday 24 August 2006.
